They have the same level of skepticism/realism/experience about the INEOS timeframes as the rest of us.When I picked up my car last Friday the agent thought the new software update was definately within 2 weeks - so around 1 week from now.
My dealer plans on upgrading current stock first, followed by those suffering issues, followed by the rest of us. I would imagine mine being flashed sometime in October.Well agents don't seem to be ringing early adopters up to get them booked in. I guess they are waiting until they actually have it and possibly even see it work
when did they do your update ?URGENT UPDATE
would think so, 1941 is probably the latest version prior to the update.
I got an email last night telling me that mine has been completed, good news.
Bad news, the long expected update has totally screwed the car up. The gateway module has gone permanently into shutdown! Bosch are sending someone over to try and sort it out but they think it will need a new module
I would advise all of you to hold fire on the update until they give me an update.
DCPU can you copy this to the software update thread as well please.
Hi Max. Checklist attached. This is 90% based on one posted elsewhere on this forum (sorry, can’t recall where). That one was a pdf, so I created an Excel version that’s easier to amend. It includes some items that are specific to my build, which won’t apply to everyone. Can you post your list here, please? Would be interesting to cross-reference and even from their perspective...bet you can't wait...I have had my girl now for 3000ks and loving it...my biggest bug issue is not putting the window down a fraction and then having to be firmer on the door again...the seals are brilliant and takes time to get used to them, passengers and drivers not rears...what a problem to have...brilliant
Didn’t mean to attach two copies of the checklist; they are identical.Hi Max. Checklist attached. This is 90% based on one posted elsewhere on this forum (sorry, can’t recall where). They tried to do it yesterday afternoon late on, sounds like it's "BRICKED" now>when did they do your update ?
Oh dear we have the same dealer. They tried to do it yesterday afternoon late on, sounds like it's "BRICKED" now>
WE do but my car is not with them. INEOS collected mine three weeks ago and because there was so much that needed to be done to it, they took it to one of their own specialised workshops.Oh dear we have the same dealer.
Hi, I think you may be right that you are one of the very first on which the software update has been tried. I was told I would get it this week (my car was also needing quite a bit of remedial work not least of which was making it roadworthy again, as far as I know all the work is being done at the dealer) but I have now been told the update's general release is probably a few weeks off whilst it's efficacy is tested on a limited number of vehicles in the field.WE do but my car is not with them. In theory the update was the last thing to be done on it. I suspect mine is the first grenadier they have tried to update, with one can only say, disastrous results. Engineers from BOSCH are en route to examine it, but it appears the update has "bricked it".
As soon as I have any more info I will post it on the Forum.
I find this very odd. Surely a shed load of testing would already have been done before release?Hi, I think you may be right that you are one of the very first on which the software update has been tried. You would have thought so but having said that from our perspective probably worth them being cautious. The ghost alarms/warning were tiresome but not such as to stop the vehicle being used. The irony of the update “ensuring” the car is unusable is not lost on meI find this very odd. Surely a shed load of testing would already have been done before release?
roughly one million miles, or for DaveB approx 1,000,000.36544444 recurringI find this very odd. Surely a shed load of testing would already have been done before release?
When you say hardware upgrades, can you be more specific please? Curious?Ill log my car on the tool tomorrow and see what updates are offered, Its odd as I was on it only yesterday and nothing showed at the time.
However it was listed that the BCU and another couple of modules needed hardware upgrades.
Presumably that means remove the control unit and replace with a new one. I must say I have wondered whether it was all software or whether there were some more fundamental problems with the computer hardware. When you say hardware upgrades, can you be more specific please? Curious?
When you say that you'll log your car on the "tool", is that something available to all of us, or something specific for your dealer/agent/supplier?Ill log my car on the tool tomorrow and see what updates are offered
Ill check it but im sure it indicated a replacement may be due, BUT as said the diagnostic tool is in its early stages of release so it may also be a bug. When you say hardware upgrades, can you be more specific please? Curious?
