smokers package

But we are all guessing as it's yet to show itself in public or be photographed.

Correct - which is why we've formally asked IA.

This is all that it comprises - what a letdown!

i didnt even get the lighter socket what a piss take, gonna take it on the chin as my friends and missus just laughed at me when i said a plastic cup costs that much

But there's plenty of room on the control panel for a socket. Its modular, should be easy to fit at the factory.

There’s no 12v in your cubby?

Well if someone was interested still, our IG cane with the smokers package and there is a 12v socket in the center armrest cubby…however it only works with the cigar lighter and none of my 12 v adapters. Wonder if anyone has found a way to put in like a usb charge port in its place?

In the UK and in some cars ( and on ATVs) there is a slight difference in size between a cigar lighter socket and 12v auxiliary socket. I know some of my auxiliary plugs will not fit into a cigar socket. Unless it is down to manufacturers tolerances.

Thanks! I have several car socket adapters for USB plugs and even the short ones don't work. Might have to do some more research to see if this is possible.

So one has to have a hand on the steering wheel and with the other hand open the cubby, press in the lighter in wait and take the lighter out with your eyes on the road? This is so poorly done an easy complaint with the NHTSA will get this fixed.
For $75.00 A plug is needed on the dash. I ordered every option except the brown steering wheel and the winch. So yes I ordered the lighter and I'm a non smoker. With all the options it should have a better resale sometime in the future. Better than LR.

SOLUTION!!!!!!

So will be doing a long trip in the next couple of months from Colorado to Maine. I have a Uniden R8 with the 12v cord for it. I ended up running a 12' extension (12v male to 12 female) to access the rear 12v plug so I could have the power to the detector (will hardwire in the future). In order for the rear 12v plug to work the power switch on the overhead panel needs to be turned on.

I thought to myself....maybe if the power switch in the overhead panel is ON then the 12v cigarette outlet might function just like the rear. Well WHADDAYA know....The front 12v cigarette outlet works flawlessly now! I am going to keep the 12' extension just in case but for anyone wondering this trick works. Probably as advertised but I could find nothing on it.

Hope that helps someone else out as it was literally driving me nuts for months!

WELL here is another update! Since I want to hard wire my Radar Detector into the Grenadier's electrics JUST YET, I did grab a 11.5' Cigarette lighter cable with RJ end so that the Uniden R8 could be powered.

I ran the cable from the left of the mirror around the window and down to the right side of the drivers left seat. Some cable was exposed from by my right foot to into the 12v Cigarette lighter in the cubby between the seats.

What was surprising to me is that NOW after using the overhead power switch to activate the socket last night.....literally the Smoker's Package 12v cigarette lighter works FLAWLESSLY even WITHOUT the Power overhead switch on.

OMG....No clue on how this worked for me but NOW the Smokers Package 12v in the cubby is working as I believed it should all along!
