I got today the following message in my mailbox, lucky for me in English, so it is a copy paste here, but that doesn't meant I am happy with this, see below.

REGARDING YOUR DEPOSIT FOR ORDER NO. 52abcde
And a static Grenadier in our showroom.
Dear Jean,
Recently, you probably got your deposit refunded by Ineos Automotive. That amount was actually supposed to be forwarded to us, Hedin Automotive, in order for our finance department to settle that amount in your final invoice.
We therefore would kindly like to ask you to re-transfer the advance amount back to us by Friday, 27 January. This will allow us to neatly reconcile the final bill as it should be. We apologise for the miscommunication and inconvenience and thank you for understanding.
(some explantion how to pay the deposit)
Come discover the Grenadier in Lokeren!
However, we would also like to deliver some great news, as the wait for your brand-new Grenadier is almost coming to an end. The first units are being finalized in the factory in Hambach and are making their way to our concession in Lokeren soon!
Can't wait till then to discover your Grenadier? From Thursday 12 to Sunday 29 January, a production model of the INEOS Grenadier will be in our showroom in Lokeren. Tough, capable and rugged: the Grenadier was built to be a vehicle you can rely on. And for the very first time, you can finally preview a production unit.
Test driving however will not yet be possible, but you can take a closer look at all the details and finishes. Our Grenadier Expert will be happy to give you an extra word of explanation and answer any questions you may have about your order and deposit amount.
Registration is not compulsory but appreciated.

See you then!

My remarks ...
  • The mail is in English, this is in my opinion a lack of respect from my dealer for his customers: In Belgium we speak or Dutch, or French or (small region) German. They could have send a multilingual mail to everybody, Dutch, French, German and if they wish in English too!
  • I was refunded, indeed (not yet in my bank account, but visible on the transactions of my Credit Card).
  • Read also that small sentence "The first units are being finalized in the factory" ... finalised, looks like they had indeed some small final problem to solve.
  • I got the mail today, 12/01 (or for Americans and others 01/12) ... and the "production model" is there in their showroom now. Pity I was working in Brussels today, and not at a place closer to Lokeren, otherwise I would have gone to see it. If I am in the neighborhood, I will make a jump there, but I am quite busy in the coming days.
  • "Test driving however will not yet be possible" I have the feeling that the vehicle isn't yet known or registered with the Belgian Authorities, I mean the Grenadier as a car, not the specific vehicle in their showroom.
  • And finally, I am disappointed that there isn't proactive communication from my importer/dealer concerning my specific order, but I will contact him after transferring
Hi @Jean Mercier
Thanks for sharing. I read dealer (you buy from them not IA) in Belgium is Hedin, same as here in Switzerland. Wasn’t aware of that before. That is most likely why we have same refund of deposit process in both countries.
I hear you and share communication could be done better. Perspective to see and touch a production model is a big milestone.

^ This is the key point :)

I hope you and others get your Grenadier very soon so you can start enjoying your new vehicles and others like myself, who have to wait for another several months, can have some first-hand owner(s) reviews.
ROLMAO ! if you believe that, I have some muskeg in Beautiful Northern BC to sell ;)

Wasn't it only last month (December 2022) that they said they'd be deliveries by the end of that year. They didn't know then that was horses**t ? Talk about writing a cheque your axe can't cash... over and over.

And Heaven Forbid a Customer quotes getting a delivery in 2-3 months.

I've read it before on here, and I believe it: NA will have a loooong wait. For those that can.

Whatever happened to those lucky competition winners who were to go to some wilderness to pick up their vehicles? We’re they not supposed to be the first deliveries?
I hope they are not stuck somewhere with some technical problems :devilish: and doubt anyway that Ineos will tell us.

I was thinking about that this morn. Perhaps the hard way home is harder than they thought?

I presume that deliveries to us normal customers can start when the marketing machinery worked through the hard way home footage.

So are you actually buying the car from Hedin rather than Ineos? Has anyone explained to you why the arrangements should be different for you/all Belgians?

For a newcomer in automotive, IA is doing a pretty good job so far.
I subscribed to shares in Sono Motors and waited in vain for the Sion. I now drive a Peugeot 208e as a delivery vehicle for short distances.
This year we procured an aerial ladder for our fire brigade. In addition to the general delays due to supply chain problems, the vehicle was not up to date with the latest software when it was handed over. We´ve been told, we´ll get the update for january 2023. So even large and experienced companies have their problems.

Rosenbauer. But I´m afraid Magirus is facing the same problems. I´ve spoke to a comrade from a Berufsfeuerwehr in south germany. He told me magirus did not even submit an offer for a tender of 2 ladders.

Not interested in whatever you are selling. Thanks :)

I understand that wait has been long and communication has been lacking but if you get a message from a dealer inviting you to come and check out a production vehicle, it's a positive sign. Also, when they are getting into the details of refunding the deposits so dealers can start handling finance etc. - that is also a clear indication that things are finally moving along.

Sorry if my earlier message upset you. I have not reached the frustration level that some others may have reached after waiting months or even years.
