I was thinking about installing a simple holder for my smartphone and CB radio. I still had a metal holder from my mountain bike, sturdy and good for the phone. Attached with a ball. I ordered a ball with a 4 mm screw hole for the phone and clamp holder. The photos explain it best. I shortened an M4 screw and glued it to the ball with high-strength Loctite. One ball is 15 mm and the other 16 mm (measured instead of 17 mm) from A. So one is chrome-plated and the other black.

I copied @Barney , modified a little bit: 4mm double end screw, use a 90cm antenna in the back, could be folded and everything in less than 5 min disassembled and stored in two boxes. Maybe for the Mic I have to find a more professional solution

Yeah that’s correct - plastic shroud contains the ADAS camera. I can’t figure out how to remove the plastic to see what’s inside.

I haven't, although I swear I just read some other post recently, where someone did remove it - I think they said it just pulled the plastic housing straight down (towards the dash). But, you may want to do a search on the forum for this before attempting!

I've been working on a DIY pop up box tent. Almost done. Need to work on how to secure top loose (movable) box to bottom fixed (non-moving) box. Also excuse first collapse down with tent material finally screwed in so hopefully I'll get it down to a science soon. And figure a way to protect and cover the exposed bottom tent material. Which is cut from a Cartman 8mil tarp that ended up being pretty thin. May have to swap out after the maiden use.

Last weekend I installed sliding windows on both sides. These come from Explore Glazing in the Netherlands. Great quality, perfect fit and well made. If you follow the detailed instructions, assembly shouldn't be a problem for most people.

The hardest part was cutting out the original window panes. There definitely have to be two of you and you need patience! ... not only the cutting wire burned out several times!

I let it dry for 3 days without moving the Granadier. You shouldn't even close the doors.

ideal for my purposes. Great for the dogs, or for sleeping in the car!

For the protective grille / Molle panel you have to drill the holes and cut the thread yourself. But shouldn't be a problem.

I have been thinking about ordering these, for the very same reason. dogs spend a lot of time back there and want to make sure they get the air they need. How have these held up? If you had it to do over again would you still have done this modification? I would be working with a local glass guy here that is a friend of mine to install, is it necessary to not move the Grenadier for the full 3 days? Sorry tons of questions. LOL thanks S

With that chrome on the grill gone, it might work wrapping the white top and bottom of the grill as pic attached. It has been shown before by another forum member...I think it works well

It's 58 inches long (~147cm). Works decently for me, but probably wouldn't work as well for taller people

Got the car on Tuesday. So far I changed the bracket to make the back seats recline more, changed the bumper on the 70% door to a softer rubber. Change the wheels to all black, did a chrome delete on the grill, painted the break calipers red & painted the tow hooks red. Waiting on black grab bars for the roof, getting the windows tinted tomorrow. Need to install a wolf box back up cam. Waiting on a fox steering stabilizer, electric side step, GPS visor, side view mirrors and a few bags and pouches for storage.

Hey, how did you remove the chrome from the grill? Are they strips or just wrap?

@Barney was the ball available from RAM Mounts? Or where did you source it?

They are just strips. If you put your fingers behind the grill you will feel tabs sticking through. Some are probably easier than others. I was thinking of doing this over the weekend when I had my grill removed but I couldn't find the before and after pictures of those that have done it. So I didn't commit to it yet. Looks really good.

I think others have just taken them out and left them out.

A tidy fixing arrangement! I guess the only upgrade might be to make some sort of quick release function? Guessing held on by wing nuts or similar.
