Sheds and Barns

Update on my Grenadier shed build.
It is going slower than planned as my wifes health has deteriorated again and that has obviously taken priority.
It is a work in progress but has 6 months or so months to go, assuming I ever decide it is completed.

Right choice of priorities, I wish her a speedy recovery 🙏

Just moved out of this one,

And the dumbarse of the year award goes to.................me..........
Back to working on the Grenadiers shed and my wife wants to paint the kitchen/laundry walls.
Lined them with primed VJ panel and she wants a "picture" rail to break them up for different colours as they are 4.8 metres high.
Found my laser level but the tripod is lost/loaned out???
Looking to buy a new one and remembered my laser level comes with a magnetic base and I am inside a metal shed.
Problem solved and money saved.
I feel for the young generation these days who don't have laser levels, hand and power tools, basic skills.

Younger generation by and large are too interested in other stuff.
They just get a boomer to do stuff for them.
I built my first kitchen using hand tools. All the cupboard doors properly jointed and rebated by hand. Took me a while , working after hours til midnights after 10 hour shifts as a hospital resident.
But it put hairs on my chest 😄

What if they don't even want a shed???
The horror!!!

As long as they can have their phone, computer and a toilet, they will live in Dad's shed and Mum will provide the food...a bit too close to the truth:(
My son has been living in defense housing for last 18 years on call 24/7 so he hasn't come back.
My daughter on the other hand moved back home after leaving her first oxygen thief (husband) now she has a great second husband and they just bought their second house.
I had just completed a 1200 square metre workshop when she returned and we converted it into a 3 bedroom apartment for her and my grandson.

My son and his wife lived throughout 10 years of uni etc in our shed. Surrounded by shed junk, spiders, no kitchen , bathroom downstairs (braving the elements), no flat parties but dinner in the main house.
But we churned out a doc and a teacher. They don't take life for granted. Bit of hardship doesn't hurt anyone!

Back in the day...real stuff...real sheds...real vehicles...the Gren is pretty real (y)

Good on them...wish we could say it today...things go round and come round🤞

No matter how old they are they are still your children.

I loved it the first time I babysat a grandchild and I got so many instructions.
I said you do realise I have looked after babies before??
