General Service Reset Procedure - Oil Change (currently only possible with dealer level scan tools)

Ok so finally got an answer from INEOS and it’s rather pathetic. They claim that there is NO way to reset the Service Reminder without bringing it to a dealer and having them perform the reset. Absolutely ridiculous in the context of what this vehicle is supposed to be. Formal response from INEOS below.

There has to be a way - we just need to figure it out, without the help of INEOS.

Can I ask a question on the Massachusetts R to R law. An oil change yes because it is a maintaining the vehicle and is required. But will/ does it apply to the service reminder, a courtesy function? The reminder is a guidance note. It's function doesn't impair vehicle operation and no damage will be done by ignoring it. Therefore is it a repair that falls within the act.

No formal contact that I can recall. This was from an exchange with customer service.

After the big "come on" with a promise of honouring DIY servicing, I recall there was also sentence in the sales brochure which said something along the lines of " of course we'll expect to see you once a year... " etc
The subject of this thread is how Ineos have ensured that such a visit occurs.
I'm biding my time... the "market" will sort most of these "imbuggerances" in due course...

I was finally able to get into the INEOS dealer in San Antonio this morning to have them reset the service indicator and they were awesome! They only have one tech dedicated to the INEOS service side, but he immediately came to the vehicle, plugged into the ODBII port, and was able to reset the service reminder in about 2 minutes.
