Anyone know how to remove this black panel inside the door? It seems loose, but there are clips and I can see that the window mechanism is attached in some way. Figure I can go work this out myself, or maybe someone here can tell me the trick.

@parb posted some pics with the regulator removed over here. I'm sure he'll be along soon to share the magic.View attachment 7888047

You need to be careful with that panel. You need to disconnect the side impact sensor which will turn on the airbag fault warning. Only the factory software will reset that. I found out the hard way...
Thanks for sharing. I'll remove my post so no one touches the window motor. I clearly didn't remember it well (i was working on two cars at once and i must have confused them).OK - I figured this out with the help of my helpful dealership!
To take off the inner black door card, you need to unclip the window.
Whatever you do, do not remove the window operator motor....the pulley mechanism pops apart inside and is pretty complicated to reassemble.
- in the bottom quarter of the plastic panel, there are 2 rubber grommets. Pull them out and they reveal some slots inside.
- With the door card harness still attached, lower the window until the white window carriers are visible and then use a tool to detach the window from those clips.
- then slide the window up and tape it in the up position.
- take off all the T27 bolts from the black inner window card and then it just slides out.
