Anyone know how to remove this black panel inside the door? It seems loose, but there are clips and I can see that the window mechanism is attached in some way. Figure I can go work this out myself, or maybe someone here can tell me the trick.

Appreciate the post and good question. I have a “rattle” I have been dealing with for 12+ months now that I think may be in the window track and/or in the panel. I have seen a number of posts on how to remove the door panel/card, but nothing on the removal of the interior panel shown above. Going to guess the window regulator plays a part in the removal process, but purely a guess.

All of that said, I would greatly appreciate any information related to the removal of this panel so I might be able to track down the “rattle” I have had.

@parb posted some pics with the regulator removed over here. I'm sure he'll be along soon to share the magic.

There is a TSB (technical service bulletin) to address the sticky locks. It requires accessing the lock from the inside of the door which I believe requires removing this panel. Ask, dare I say demand, the dealer’s service dept to print off the details of this procedure.

This was part of the online manual stuff that we have yet to see.

You need to be careful with that panel. You need to disconnect the side impact sensor which will turn on the airbag fault warning. Only the factory software will reset that. I found out the hard way...

If I recall correctly you need to remove the window regulator (first tape up the window so it stays up) and then remove the regulator to remove this piece of plastic panel. This is a good time to be extra careful or you'll break the window.
