Exactly, each to their own. I agree, you need a foot rest........all I was saying is that the covering could have been conformal hence reducing the bump.
Jerry. Do you have your Grenadier as yet? I know you have driven your friends one but was it for long enough to sort of ‘forget’ about the foot rest?
I’m with you in that if there was a reasonably price mod’ I might try it. But there again, if messing with the ergonomics, would it end up being more uncomfortable. Will give you a better idea following my planned very long day in the driving seat.

Wires crossed I think. I don't have a friend with one. Had ours for nearly 10 days, and our longest journey was today hence my comment. Be interesting to see how you get on.

10 days in - I reckon if I had the carpeted version it would be more comfortable.

I opted for carpets but after some month's, Ineos took them off the options list for the SW. Will be looking to see if Ineos sell carpets at a reasonable price or if I should go to a local upholsterer.

I drove the PT02 three times in total. I never found a truly comfortable resting position for the RHD footwell. It was odd and remained odd at all times - I have never driven a vehicle with a footrest that sits approximately 90mm forward of the throttle pivot point... I am however hoping the car is too good and I can turn a blind eye to the footrest. Enough people have raised concerns including 8 or 9 of the UK test drivers... but here some short and some tall seem to find it is ok so that is positive for all of us! Then again, I can do 600-800kms a week easily and most people in the UK simply do not drive as much as us Aussies and long stints are far less frequent over in the little Island.

I guess each driver is different. But, i just don’t think it will be an issue. I drive lots of different vehicles on a regular basis, they all have radically different ergonomics, my body just adapts without a thought. After a week of ownership you’ll have forgotten all about it.
I’ve owned mine for over a year now and am now looking at selling it as I find the protrusion so irritating that it puts me in a bad mood every time I drive my grenadier. I’m 5ft 9

I have the carpet option and haven't noticed a difference when using a courtesy vehicle without. I'm sure it's just seating position to get right.

So am I!
And the hump is a non issue for me.
We must have very different bone structures.
I am 5'10" and 72kg - and I find it terrible to drive as a daily commute. It isn't just the 'hump' but the rest of the ergonomic issues the hump creates coupled with a boy racer seat with my lumbar support!

PS: Taz you get to drive the best landscapes down there in the Gren - still jealous!

Two simple alternatives:

1. Remove the plastic floor cover. This reduces the height and width of the footrest (leaving just the much smaller metal footrest)

2. Cut the footrest section of the plastic floor cover out, exposing the much lower and narrower metal footrest.

Yes. I’ve now done 30,000km and I find the Grenadier a very comfortable drive.

In previous vehicles, most recently a Toyota Fortuner and before that a Nissan Navara, I was always very uncomfortable at the end of a long drive.

I’m 178cm / 5’10”

It is insane that several same height people can find it totally different! For me, the only vehicle I have ever owned that is as uncomfortable as it is.

Taz - cut manifold down and make footrest about 3 inches lower! WINNER!

I think it’s a personal issue. It’s like having a pear of jeans that you love, that feel comfortable in and you always go to first. But someone else might hate that brand and find them really uncomfortable. I hate the driving position in our Ranger but some of my staff love it….

Shame for you I guess. I tend to drive 50% of the time with my left foot behind my right.. the rest of the time its on the lump.

Your first post after joining 6 months ago, and owning it for over 12 months, and that’s to tell us you hate it and are about to sell it??

Well welcome aboard. And good luck.

The Hump hey. If it wasn’t there I probably wouldn’t miss it.
If you pull the lining out, you’ll notice if you were handy you could trim about 5cm from the hump to make it narrower.
But I haven’t bothered, as it doesn’t bother me in the slightest- maybe I’m one of the lucky ones.

Has anyone tried fitting a lhd vinyl floor to a rhd? It looks a lot narrower then the RHD.

GrenX are advertising their new RHD replacement floor mat that reduces the hump significantly, I am going to go to their site and pre order one now.

Just ordered, the mat looks great in their pictures, and reduces the hump by what looks like at least 50% the cost is about $400 au.
It also looks factory.

Maybe you’re just a tall dwarf, not a short human, and with teenie weenie legs dangling of the seat it doesn’t matter.

Let us all be real here - sitting lopsided is not preferred by anyone ever. But some will be ok with it because they are ex Toyota/LR drivers and had to put up with countless issues over their lives and so a foot rest is just another thing!!! For young bloods, the footrest is a 1st world design flaw! If your new iPhone had a big hump in the middle of the screen, bet you wouldn't buy it!
