Rear work light

I just received my rear work light from stedi . Only down side is that the tail isn't long enough and it's a DT connector so would have to get it to DTP

So my question is , is it worth cutting off the DT connector , soldering the extension on then using the DTP connector , so would be 1 join , 1 connector or leave it as is and solder the extension onto the DT tail and then dtp the extension end so it would be 1 solder join , but would have 3 connectors in it

I had this same problem with my Lazer, I cut the plug off the light, soldered it and sealed it and made a new plug for the roof.

Yeah it's a bit naff that you only get a 8" tail with the light , bought all the proper compounds to do a water tight solder joint and gear for the connector

Had similar with Lazer, they put a dtp on the end but the tails were way short, Just made a suitable dtp extension.

Yes! I made a custom cable - DT to DTP.

Here is mine. Custom mount, 3mm stainless, about as strong as the rack it’s mounted to, but keeps the light flush.

Think I got the same style of light the stedi C4 , I'm probably going to get rid of the DT connector and just extend the cable then a dtp on the end of that

This could have been a clear ‘work light’, but I ordered a pair of these Baja Designs lights with yellow flood beam lenses to serve as ‘chase lights’. The tail on right side WAS long enough to reach the roof outlet but the one on the left did require an extension. Both are controlled by the EXT2 Switch.
