Hi all…
I’ve had a vehicle on order since July, but like many others, was informed there would be a delay whilst the supplier issue was remedied.
This morning I visited my dealer to consider an alternative vehicle that matched all my specs (everything I asked for but a ‘fieldmaster’ rather than a ‘trialmaster’.)
The gossip at my dealers showroom was production will resume early January, with pretty much exactly the same seats, only minus the Recaro logo.
Happy days.

If true that means they probably purchased the production specs and are getting someone else to build it - just a guess

Sure, at least 6th hand. But a marked improvement on wild speculation:) My local dealer is not an insignificant player in the European 4WD market.
It seems plausible - I don’t know about January, but what were the logical alternatives? Ineos buys a failing company? Ineos has to start from scratch with a new supplier and design that has to be recertified? Or that they just get the fabrication specs and have someone else do it? If they were smart, they probably had insolvency contingencies built into their agreement with Recaro, for a buyout price on the specs or license fees.

I wonder how much of the Recaro seats were made in-house or just bought in?

Apart from the upholstery itself there are the large plastic sections, the steel subframe and the electrical sensors
