care to give a full review of the king shocks? i've heard that they make rides on washboard much more comfortable yet they work well on highways too.
I may not be the best person to provide this sort of review because I'm used to having an aftermarket suspension and shocks on my Landcruisers for the past ~20 years prior to getting the IG.
But here's my 2 cents: The IG, in my humble opinion, stock has a fairly fast response rate on the shocks. That means that it wallows less in corners (stays flatter), and it transmits the shock of bumps back into the vehicle, more than what I am used to. The King shocks (on the adjustment level I am using) have a much softer ride. On road it has the downside of making you wallow more on harder corners (although since they are adjustable you could change this). But in return you can hit a speed-bump at much higher speed without breaking a tooth. I also feel like the King setup allows the suspension to more easily work freely (on slower trails, it feels like the suspension is drooping and compressing much easier than stock, and perhaps has more travel available, but I haven't measured that).
On washboard roads, from spending years driving thousands of miles on washboard roads in Saudi Arabia, I now do two things: 1) lower the tire pressure to about 15-18 psi, maybe a bit higher in the rear if I have a heavy load. 2) Find the speed at which the frequency of the bumps becomes most comfortable. This varies by track, but there is almost always a speed at which the bumps "smooth out", if you go too slow, wash board becomes much more uncomfortable than at speed.
Around town, at the setting I am using, the Kings are a much softer ride than stock, but again they are adjustable if you don't like that. I do. I have a sports car for when I want a firm responsive experience.
So in short, I like that the Kings appear to give the suspension more freedom to flex, and I like the softer ride around town and on the trail.
