nicknames?

meet Shadowfax ...

the backstory - our old Defender has a yellow duck on its dashboard, so when we got the IG, he-she? needed also a mascotte on the dash... first idea was of course a white duck, or perhaps small a white Starwars stormtrooper helmet ;-).. so we were looking in the local thriftstore for these.
But each time that white unicorn was there, and after the 3rd visit we took the little fellow in.. then we needed a name... as we are also LTOR fans, Shadowfax was it..

:p

Shadowfax was it..

:p

Beren has been used around here a few times regarding our pre-order. We have several "bear" themed names for other vehicles still in use so it's a bit of a pun. Mithrandir or Thingol have also been floated as we chose SS. Will have to wait for him to arrive.

I'm honing in on using a traditional "G" Scottish word since my IG is Scottish White. The name will probably be followed by "... the Grenadier."

I've narrowed it down to a few:

Gillie - a sportsman's attendant
Glaurie - muddy (Old Glaurie? Ole' Glaurie?) or Gumlie (also muddy)
Grumlie - irritable, surly, sullen (kind of like me)

All good! Just don't choose Gimli ; he's already taken 😁

I’m going with Ole’ Glaurie. Muddy works.

They know what names to give cars in the USA.
Ford Raptor
Dodge Charger
Apocalypse Hellfire
And we have Ineos

I have nick named my future Grenadier DaBull as an homage to the pioneer big wave surfer, shaper & innovator Greg Noll who passed away on June 28, 2021. It’s almost as tough as he was.
Aha
I’m off to Ericeira for a week over Xmas, hope we may get some big wave viewing in 🤞🏽
Might venture in if it’s small enough 😆

Gaston the Grunter.

Gaston was my paternal Grandfather’s (French) forename, and “Gaston la Gaffe” was a French Comic Book character. That’s my nod to my family as well as to the Hambach factory.

Grunter is an English colloquialism for a bit of an ugly/chunky person. That’s putting it politely.

“Grunty” to his friends.

He's named Henry as he will be pulling a Cub Longreach Camper Trailer named Banjo. Australians will understand :)

Cheers
Steve
