Yes I also take windscreen coverage which helps with cost, but can’t help you if you are in Birdsville and there are none in the countryMy Subaru windscreen was $1,800 to replace and could only be done at a Subaru dealer due to the vision system attached to it.
My Mercedes windscreen only cost $1,200 but again had to be done at the dealer and took 2 months to arrive.
I am so glad that the Grenadier windscreen is just a large flat piece of glass.
Also glad I always take out windscreen cover with my insurance
There are two major spare parts centres in the world for the GrenadierYes I also take windscreen coverage which helps with cost, but can’t help you if you are in Birdsville and there are none in the country
R1T gets closeDon't see the issue with his comment....
he's one of many people that want a 5L V8 diesel vehicle, that gets 68mpg, has a 260L tank, weighs only 2 tons, tows 5 tons, has 3 tons of payload, has 19 inches of ground clearance, handles like a Porsche, and costs 20k fully loaded...
is that so much to ask these days... jeez
I saw it on the weekend. Definitely cracked!Oops- anyone else notice the cracked windshield at 4:58?
Providing they turn off again. It is the same with the indicator stalk being on the left for RHD vehicles.
You hit the wipers by mistake once or twice at the start but after that it is not an issue, unless you are really thick.
New Defenders seem plagued with the same issue. Not sure if there's something about modern glass or just the thinness as manufacturers chase weight savings for fuel economy and emissions? The windscreen gives me some concern, only because I have seen the big problems Land Rover has with New Discoveries and windscreens that crack all by themselves even sitting overnight. And then they have to wait on back order for replacements at huge expense.
If nothing it should be a good test of Ineos' ability to draw down from the spares warehouse in Melbourne and get it swapped out quickly.Of course any vehicle can genuinely get a hit from a roadtrain that is inevitable it will happen from time to time. And hopefully because there is really no tech in these screens unlike Land Rover they won’t be stupidly expensive, but with a New Vehicle and current supply chain issues, hopefully it isn’t going to be a common problem and hopefully there will be readily available stock just in case.
Correct... Porsche and Defender apart (maybe something more but I don't know) any other LHD cars have it placed on the right side. Reverse situation for RHD, so the key position knows both alternatives without any complaint. I can't see where is the problem. Internet is a fantastic place to get good informations, unfortunately also the place to get exposure talking nonsense...I am right-handed and using a key placed on the left side of the steering column did not cause me any concern. Some people sure get tied in knots over things you can adjust too in five minutes
All potential grenadier owners are ambitious anywayCorrect... Porsche and Defender apart (maybe something more but I don't know) any other LHD cars have it placed on the right side. I did see that, interesting, it may be because of the front diff being off centre and the damper is in the way the R/H drive models, ** edit** after finding some pictures this may be the case. we poor R/H drivers are inflicted with both a footwell intrusion and a lower steering damper. The steering damper, did they change it from the one he was complaining about? For example, the recent US models have the damper behind.
As RHD I'm getting a inferiority complex ☹I did see that, interesting, it may be because of the front diff being off centre and the damper is in the way the R/H drive models, ** edit** after finding some pictures this may be the case. we poor R/H drivers are inflicted with both a footwell intrusion and a lower steering damper.
We may have "better" cabling on the centre diff lock/high low lever...As RHD I'm getting a inferiority complex ☹
It's a prototype in the video. We don't know whether the windscreen is production grade.I thought the Ineos screen was a hefty thick chunk of glass
This is mine, very similar also with the steering wheel on the wrong side...
