Hi, meant to say couldnt find this. My car didnt come with trailer kit. Ive done this before on other trucks. My last five vin is. 41604 thx muchOh that's interesting... You don't have the TRM but you have the harness going to it; that makes it much more convenient.
What is the build date of your vehicle? (or the last 5 of your VIN)
So I wired it in with the only exception being the purple/red was actually purple/orange. I then plugged it in to one of those magnetic trailer lights kits you get to tow a car…. It immediately threw a code and nothing worked right. Did you mean in your note that the colors were in the wrong order or the wires needed to be switched?View attachment 7877638View attachment 7877639View attachment 7877640
I gave this guy a shot. Though I tapped into the same wires up at the Towing Module plug. There was a little confusion on colors, but the color coding posted above was largely correct minus to primary colors being swapped with their stripe colors. I believe it’s the RT and Tail that you will want to flip the colors. Otherwise this method works. That said, if you have a trailer with lots of lights this unpowered setup might not work well. I plugged in my Nautiques trailer and it immediately threw codes in the Grenadier. But my Nautiques trailer has some fancy LEDs with some logic that the Grenadier does not appreciate. I assume it’s too much load. So I will likely move on to a powered converter and see what that does.
But I can confirm the trigger wires and the functionality with a smaller load trailer light system.
Additionally, there is a round grommet way in the back corner that exits the cab cleanly. The oval grommet just below the trailer wiring harness does not exit the truck.
