I present the Auto Start/Stop Temporary fix

I followed @IslandFalconer's lead and used an L-shaped piece, but I 3D printed it in black and it works and blends in seamlessly. Thanks for the great idea!

A business card folded in half thickness, I used the leg off of a fuse.

This cut off end of a cable tie has been working since November when I picked up my Quartermaster. Cost $0. Time 2 seconds.

Still waiting on my teenager to send me the file, but should definitely have it this afternoon. It's super simple, just an "L" shape in the right size to provide the friction to prevent the Start/Stop button from moving around. Same as all the other solutions. Just blends in a bit better if you care about that kind of stuff. ;-P

God damn.. I forgot to turn off auto start/stop yesterday.. was doing a 2 point turn in the middle of the road to reverse into my driveway. Fking engine stopped as I was turning the steering wheel and shifting into R, steering went stiff.. then .75 sec later car came back to life agin. All while in the middle of the road whilst trying to navigate this 2 point turn.

Again another example of sht programming to blame Ineos on. I mean there has to be a way to differentiate a gradual, straight stop to a red light, versus what I was doing - wheels turned, shifting to R, actively driving. You don’t turn off the engine in the latter scenario!

Guarantee these fkers didn’t test the vehicle for 1 million miles

You do know that when auto stop engages, you loose power steering? It’s fine if you are sitting at the red light, imagine you are briskly making 2 pt turn going from D to R while turning the steering.. and bam the fking engine turns off and you loose steering

I'd suggest that the engine should not turn off if your steering angle per the steering wheel is more than say 10° off center. This seems to be the situation that is getting so many people. It's certainly gotten me a few times before I added the clip to permanently disable it.

Thanks, I might model something up in Fusion myself. Got a 3d printer for Christmas and just fixed two toys for my kids replicating broken or missing parts.

As a guy who has had 3D printers for close to a decade, this is not really a 3D print type job. Unless you want to make the part intrusive and oversized just because you want to.

I'd have to say the zip tie method is likely the absolute best solution I have seen so far and if I happen to lose my metal clip version I will likely just drop in a zip tie.

The zip tie or metal clip method is almost invisible.

Not to discourage, just suggesting.
