I’ve had my IG for 2 weeks. Orange engine warning light came on after picking up from getting windows tinted. Any ideas?

I’ve had my IG for two weeks. Love it. Took in to get windows tinted and when I picked it up, the orange engine light is on. Any ideas? I left the car alone for a couple of hours to let it go to sleep mode, but light came back on when I started it up.

Any generic code reader will work. I keep a bluetooth reader in the glove box.

If the engine seems to be running fine, I'd be willing to bet its a P0461. I've been told (by a dealer) that this is popping up due to a software issue, and will be resolved at some point.
Maybe a silly question - but I am not into electronics: If you put that reader into the OSB it will show you all the actual failor codes in your handy AND you can delete them ?

I'm still uncertain whether these generic or even BMW code readers are suitable for the Ineos. Many people who travel remotely are also unsure. But perhaps I haven't been scouring the internet enough?

Likewise, I have yet to get a true "tested" answer on it from anyone, maybe I'm odd in the fact that that is one of the first things I try?

The reader my friend used was not able to reset / delete the error code. Maybe the dealer can.
I just had the same error last weekend. My Blue Driver ODB2 scanner could read the fault code but not clear it. The dealer cleared it for me.

I had the same code pop-up for me a few weeks ago, after stopping for a refuel (I tend to fill until gas is nearly coming out) - I plugged in a Bluetooth obd2 reader and used the "Car Scanner" app to read the code. Interestingly, when I tried to delete/clear the code, the code just keep coming back (presumably because the fuel level just kept triggering the code). However, on my second time trying to clear the code, the "Power Steering Failure" light also came on the infotainment screen (and I think I got something as well on the telltale screen, but I can't remember). Anyhow, I decided that I'm not at all smart nor capable enough to try and fix this, and it appeared I was making it worse by trying to clear the codes, so I locked the car and went back inside for the night. The next morning, when I started the Grenadier - all of the lights we're gone. 🤘 rock on. Shhh...(whispering) haven't seen the again since that time. I also only pump until the first click now - trying to be a good boy for the Grenadier quirks.

Dragged my OBD2 scanner out for a quick play before work today. It also triggered the PS warning.
Ah well , modern cars are smarter than humans!
Or are they?

I have an old school orange colored obd2 scanner from 15-20 years ago that works great. I was able to clear this same code.
I do know that with most modern cars, where these old scanners say to have the vehicle in accessory mode to clear the code, it actually requires the car to be running. This was the same on my 2020 Escalade.

The Bluetooth OBD2 i linked above with the OBDLink app on my android was able to clear this, and other codes.

So for all of those asking about BMW code etc and the readers.... Yes confirmed it uses BMW codes for the ECU (engine control Unit) I was digging around to see if it had the Bosch locked ECU, because to unlock it needs a bench unlock... That said I did find that some of the body control units are a mix and have not ironed out what all of them are yet. I think one was a merc, another had a BMW id and the cluster is a Android IPC. Still digging around but the buss seems very very simple on this vehicle which is great.

Day One - got the dreaded Engine Light!

View attachment 7878899
It has been posted and I have personally witnessed that if you double or more clicks on the fuel filling pump it can alert and the dreaded engine light appears. I had the vehicle not start and turn all off got out of the Gren locked it and waited a few minutes jump in and away we went.
