I would just like a seat with Lumbar support... that would fix 99% of my gripes with the vehicle comfort level. Oh, and a tilt and reach that partially matches the amount of adjustment for the seat itself...

Have you investigated aftermarket @trobex ??
I thought there were a couple of guys here who had done a self install or got it done.

There's a thread here somewhere for the insertion of a blow up lumbar bladder into the seat. Bad seats rank up there in life constipation. Everything else can be going great but it's tough to enjoy when that's going on.
Nothing wrong with my seat. Then again nothing wrong with my back. My front on the other hand could do with some work

What a great write-up!
As of the critical comments - my thought of the Grenadier front seats was that they were only second to RR Classic, which are just about flawless. Say, I can't stay in the driver's seat of an LR4 for more than 4 hours at a time - driving 800 miles in a day in a Grenadier was not a problem at all.
The doors (effort to slam them shut) - they will get better. At 10kmi now the driver door (most-used) now closes almost like a normal vehicle (same effort as on a RR Classic, more than in an LR4 or 68 Wagoneer), others are coming up likewise. Even the back doors can now be closed without slamming.

The only issue I’ve had with my Fieldmaster is back pain from the seating position (UK RHD). I’m 6”1’ and have struggled to not get lower back pain when driving however I adjust the seat, and I’ve never had that from any previous vehicle. I think for me it’s caused by the shorter left foot reach and a lack of seat ‘tilt’ (to lower the knees and raise the rear).
To try to fix it I bought some lumbar support from: morfit.co.uk. Initially, with the support fitted mid-back, it didn’t help at all. Massive disappointment. However when I fitted it right at the base of the seat my problems totally went away. Massive relief.
I’m sure there are many similar products out there that are just as good but to me it’s made a load of difference.

the seat bolts down. just get some longer front bolts and a pack of appropriate washers, and stack them until you get to your preferred tilt. Unsupported legs will cause low back fatigue. really good seats have thigh extensions.
