So its clear that production isn’t going as quickly as IA had hoped. Build dates are slipping from one month to the next, and then again. This has made me wonder, just how slowly are they building? They started back in 2022, its now nearly 4 months into 2023 and how many are out there that we know of? I ‘m thinking its less than 1000.. so in 28 weeks or so working 5 days a week thats only 7-8 cars a day…?? Can it really be that few? If they have built 2000 thats only 15 cars a day…

To put it another way if they were building a modest 15000 cars a year that would be 57 per day.. at that rate there should be around 7000 cars out there now..

Any thoughts on the numbers?

They obviously did not really start in November and did not ramp up production till Jan/Feb.

Did they not say that they were aiming to build 30,000 per year? If so thats over 100 per day, if they did ramp up in January, that would mean that there should be at least 6000 cars built now (12 weeks at 100 cars per day). I don't think they did ramp up, or at least certainly nowhere close to full production..

@Annee reported on FB her vehicle being "the 12th one that is on the road", presumably in the UK and having been so informed late yesterday afternoon by her dealer Harwoods in Portsmouth. If that is correct, and with at least a couple of hundred vehicles now currently stored at dealers, IA really do need to pull their finger out.

In Hambach and at several dealers are Grenadiers waiting for Updates, and papers to be put on the road. End of January were approx. 1400 cars build, I think (crystal globe🙈) 4000 cars are produced and at the moment they are ~85 cars/day on production.

My VIN ends in (approx) 2200 and has just shipped. That's assuming they are sequential.

How did you discover this?

Based on the VIN's we are seeing - probably close to 3,000 cars made to date.

Back in early 2022, IA publicly announced the planned first production (I assume based on refundable reservations taken) was going to be 15,000 units and then rising to around 35,000 in production years 3 & 4.

Obviously much has changed in the past 15 months, and I reckon IA will not produce 12,000 cars between now and end September 2023 as they would need to have 100 a day rolling off the line.

Series production commenced 16 October 2022 - IA mentioned only around 15 units a day but then ramping up in late December but based on the units produced so far - there must still be significant resource constraints.

Looks like Annee takes the ribbon for first delivery to a member of this forum. Nice one Annee (y)

The first production vehicle I saw was the first customer vehicle delivered to my local dealer. The papers on the passenger seat showed production of 12/12/22, and the VIN ended 000659. The car I was looking at at the Essen Technoclassica last week had a VIN ending 001613, and we have as high as 2500 within the forum. So they have produced at least this many units since December.

NB. For those who care, according to an Ineos email, my car is 'in production getting closer to being finalised' - I think that translates as it's scheduled for production. Awful late for a January build!

Mine is Two Thousand, Five Hundred and twenty something. Hopefully not far behind your delivery
My VIN is just over 1000 and not yet shipped to my knowledge. My dealer (UK Gerrards Cross) says it is not on site yet and they have no firm date but likely to be in the next 3-4 weeks. Doesn't seem to be any logic to the VIN number and deliver dates.

If yours is a vehicle where parts missing or qs-inspectors are unhappy and put in the "hold" pattern?
While later produced vehicles may pass because all components are available - so this can very well be. Just a guess.
