A few times I have had an issue that has resolved itself the next day;
As best I can tell, it occurs when I turn off "Auto" A/C, the heat and A/C are both on.
I feel Cool air thru the dash vents, yet extreme heat radiating thru the cabin.
Called the dealer, he thinks it may be the heater flap getting "confused" for lack of a better description.

Curious if anyone else has found this issue and a "fix"
Thanks

I have the exact same issue but the dealer has been short staffed and I haven't been able to get it in. It will usually correct itself if you turn off the car and lock it and let it sit for 10 minutes. Not ideal but it usually works. I have never felt heat coming out of a cars vents as hot as the air coming out of the rear vents when it happens. Its pretty crazy. My dealer made it sound like there was no definitive fix yet.

Does what leads up to the symptom the same across all three (you, your friend and above)?

Mine happens at start up randomly. It either works great from the start or it starts blowing hot right away and the only way to fix it is to stop and lock the car and let sit which resets it. Maybe once or twice it has started blowing hot after driving for a bit.

I had the issue when driving last weekend on a hot day. With auto on and set to full cold, the front vents were blowing tepid air barely cooler than ambient air, but the rear vents were well over 100F. Hasn’t happened since, but i do find the flaps don’t always seem to close and open as I would expect. I’ve had full face on and it’s still splitting between the floor or dash vents. 🤷‍♂️

The extreme heat in mine seems to come from the rear and mid center vents when this happens. No patterns noticed.

I think it’s a pretty widespread issue, another owner I know who just picked his up has the same problem
The minute I learned the power train was BMW as well as the AC accessories—I had concerns—having had a 7 series with an AC that was piss poor. Wish they’d bought the engine and accessories from Toyota

Considering Toyota put this engine and trans in their flagship sports car, I think it’s pretty solid.

According to my chat with Ineos area manager not all components on the HVAC system are from BMW. It’s a mash up of components from different manufacturers which we now find out they don’t work together. After speaking to him, I get the impression this will never be fixed unless a new heater system is redesigned and installed.

Oh that’s not promising at all. In fact it sounds like maybe a hellish thing to sort out. If it all came from a common manufacturer, I’d give better odds to a quick resolution. If you live in a hot climate, that’s just gonna be very frustrating.

But don’t let me put you off. No car is perfect (except my Jimny). Once in a while, something like this comes along so special which is a modern take on an old fashioned icon and is a must buy. It’s tank like build, 1/2 or 1/4 the price of a G class which you can actually take off road. It is built to last and comes with a 5 years warranty. It’s a specialised tool vehicle which only some will appreciate.

We have a 4X4 Denali. My wife really loved the looks of the Ineos and the way the doors shut. We test drove one and she seemed impressed. That being said the drive was very local—no interstate. I think her big concern was the lack of things she’s grown accustomed to, like the power rear gate. She also couldn’t understand why it didn’t have the warning lights in the mirrors. She wasn’t a fan of non speedo cluster in front of the steering wheel. Over all, she liked the “feel and look”, a lot. We’d first seen one at a car show and she was very excited about it. Hopefully the AC issue will be sorted out and we can find one in a year or so that might work. Oh—she also sort of bulked that the rear seats didn’t fold flat.

Have you looked at the new LandCruiser or Lexus GX? Saw them for the first time and looks like a contender for a daily driver, towing and overlanding (that we are accustomed too).

The Lexus yes, not the Toyota as I understand it to be only a 4 cylinder
