Fusilier alternative

I have been following Alpha Motors since they announced a really cool sports car. At one point they were doing a deal with a manufacture from China? or someplace for the manufacturing but that hasn't moved forward in years. They do have a prototype vehicle they showed at SEMA and a couple of other shows, but that's it from what I can tell...

I haven't looked at them seriously for about a year...

My guess is that’s all they’ll ever have - some prototypes. It’s the China to California BS pipeline. I was probably too generous in my description of the business model - the “hope it comes true” part assumes a level of integrity that isn’t there. It just has to be true enough for the early series investors to take their returns and exit, leaving others holding the bag. Make the story bloated enough and credible enough to draw suckers in at scale. THAT’S the “California innovation business model.”

The company certainly seems to exist, although there's a lot of corporate speak on their website.

Each day over the last few weeks I now see more BYD Sharks on the road than I do Grenadiers (northern Sydney).

My personal opinion - it’s 95% China/HK investors who set up shop in Irvine, the CEO’s daddy is paying for this little excursion, just like he paid for her to go to Berkeley and Stanford, they have a prototype and a bunch of marketing twits and it will never go anywhere. Like who actually makes “strategic goals” something to publish, as if it’s some sort of milestone?
