i currently own a G400d that i am selling to buy a grenadier.
What are the reasons? Do you have problems with the vehicle?i currently own a G400d that i am selling to buy a grenadier.
no the opposite. the g wagon is an amazing vehicle. i just want an actual 4x4 not something that is a luxury car inside a 4x4.What are the reasons? Do you have problems with the vehicle?
Ok, thank you. I'm looking for a reliable, high-quality tool that is always available. That's why I'm only considering the Professional. Personally, I wouldn't describe the interior as luxury. The silver-coloured plastic of the air vents looks rather cheap to me. Also the imitation leather of the seat covers. Don't get me wrong. Everything is perfectly adequate for my use case. With the Grenadier, I often use the inspection and the locks. But every time I switch off the engine, I'm annoyed that the front and rear locks switch off and I can no longer engage them directly, which can be problematic depending on the surface. I expect better technology from MB. Other little things that I have in the Grenadier should not be there either. At least that's what I would expect.no the opposite. the g wagon is an amazing vehicle. i just want an actual 4x4 not something that is a luxury car inside a 4x4.
We have a G63 that we bought new a few years ago. It’s got about 12,000 miles on it now. I also have a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon we bought new years ago with about 50k on it, a Ford Bronco Badlands with 35” tires we bought new with about 15,000 miles on it, and the Fieldmaster that now has about 3,000 miles on it. I have driven all four on road and off road extensively. The Jeep and the Grenadier have solid axles the other two independent, but all four have front and rear lockers, all fully loaded, and so they’re quite comparable. Here’s my take: G63- solid, well-built, unsurpassed driver visibility and comfort, amazing power, so fun to drive, probably very capable off road but the low profile tires make it good for mall crawling only. Gas range is mediocre. Best car I’ve ever owned. We live in Utah so it works for on-road, snowy conditions, ski trips, etc. The Bronco- visibility not great for off roading, but very capable both on and off road. Comfortable, plenty of power, fun to drive, a bit noisy when taking a mobile call on the freeway due to wind noise. The Rubicon- obviously capable off road but it sucks taking all things into consideration as compared to the Bronco and isn’t in the same realm as the G63 or Grenadier. The Grenadier- solid, well-built, simple, great driver visibility, pretty comfortable, with the Agile steering stabilizer it’s acceptable on road (not as good as Bronco or G63), incredible off-road chops. It’s a joy to drive on a curvy mountain road and even better on a 4x4 road.Do any of you have a current G-Wagon in addition to the Grenadier? I'm considering buying one new and would like to talk to an owner. I am particularly interested in the experience of comparing the two vehicles. So far I've also had my eye on the G580. But I've changed my mind again. It will probably be a G400/450.
l've driven new Defender, old Defender, G-Wagon and Grenadier.
The new G-Wagon is like the Defender but with more attitude.
The Grenadier is like the old Defender but brought up to date and more capabilities on road.
The Grenadier is somewhere between the old Defender and new Defender. lt can't be compared with the G-Wagon. Well, it can, but it's unfair. The target market is completely different.
lt's like comparing the old Defender with the new Defender.
lf you can make any sense of that. l just re read what l wrote, and am not sure l even understand myself.
Oh, and we've also got a 2020 Suzuki Jimny. That's nearer to the old Defender and could be compared with the Grenadier, except the Jimny is about half the size.
Thank you for your detailed description and the comparison of the different vehicles. It always depends on what you want to do with the vehicle in question. I am happy with my Grenadier. However, the G Wagon would be a better compromise between off-road and highway driving for me. Not with low-profile tires, of course. Pulling heavy trailers on damp ground was no problem at all. Comparable to the Grenadier. There is a big difference on the highway. Heating, ventilation, air conditioning, radio, no noise, simply perfect. I will definitely stay informed. We have a G63 that we bought new a few years ago. It’s got about 12,000 miles on it now. You aren't missing out.Sorry for me a G-Wagen is made of solid unobtainium.
It is a fictional element on the periodic table, Ub.Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean by that.
Thanks for the explanation. It is a fictional element on the periodic table, Ub.
It is also the material Oakley uses on their ear and nose pieces of their glasses.
I'd take a G 300 461 professional over a Gren anyday.You aren't missing out.
I gotta tell ya, when the "agrarian" gren was first announced, that's what I hoped it would be.Parked beside a Canadian Army G-Wagon today. This vehicle is definitely taller than a regular G-Wagon. My Grenadier has a 2.5" lift and 35" wheels, but this Army G-Wagon looks just as tall, if not taller.

a G300 would get me killed in Mexico. The Grenadier "looks" like a 30 year old import and would be more trouble than it would be worth to steal.I'd take a G 300 461 professional over a Gren anyday.
