Grenadier Servicing Price Australia

$46 hr on Gold Coast for stock neck maybe $55 if your gifted... $180 is stupid and as the next recession kinds it will be a fast crush of the over charging being done here in Australia.

You can earn $200K as a stop go traffic controller in VIC... no wonder we are all going broke at the state level!!!
Going by some of the complaints about servicing costs in Australia for the Grenadier some of these shops have to be pushing past $200hr for basic service on a 4x4 that is no more complex than any other on the market.

I'm about to have my first service and have been advised:

On your 1st Service, it is recommended the following according to the manufacturer's Schedule.
  • Replace oil filter
  • Replace Engine oil
  • Replace sump plug washer
  • Replace AC filter
  • Replace water separator filter
  • Replace axel oil.
In addition, We carry out an overall safety check on the vehicle

This type of service costs around NZ$1,200/- Incl Gst

Ouch! Very ouch!
I'd be interested to see the hours of labour recommended by Ineos.

12 to 14 hours a day on night shift "maximum allowable overtime" to make that $200k, $32 an hour for night shift, that is a lot of hours, time and a half for overtime above the 38 hour work week, but that is calculated from the daytime rate. superannuation is paid on the 38 hour normal week.
I would say if you work all your conscious hours you deserve something.

A qualified auto mechanics award wage in Australia is approximately $28.00 an hour plus super most would be paid more, maybe $32 to $35 an hour what the workshop charges is a different matter.

Wrong
50hr week normal hours with allowances - not night shift. Union based pay and only that high in VIC atm. Its been reported several times.

I know a few mechs in the $40 range... being charged out at $150-$180 is laughable - but we schmucks keeping accepting and paying it so we can only blame ourselves for high prices.

Tyre rotation is on list too. Mark the tyres or log the serial number for each position.

The service takes exactly 2hrs by my independent mech - and it was their first time on the Gren (albeit familiar with B57 as they specialise in EU cars).

Had the service done yesterday. $995 + fluids.

Also got the new SW update to 2940. Not sure what has changed, but they said "small steps to improvement"
PLUS Fluids..? So total cost still $1200 NZ?

$1,175.61 (incl GST)

EDIT:
Looking at the invoice more closely ...
Petrol Type 'A' Service: $325.50 (+GST)
Parts: $696.77 (+GST)

(I was quoted $995 + $200 (ish) for axel oil but the breakdown is actually a little difference. I was focused on the quote and then final figure, but the breakdown is slightly different - apologies)

Wouldn't it be great to be able to get access to all the tech bulletins!!

Cost of a 15K service at a Qld dealer (current as of today). You need to add 10% for the GST, the total is $934.65

Interesting there's no breakdown of individual part costs...
But I like the total !

There is no mention of an air filter, unless that is the HVAC filter, but I thought that was for the air con/heating system.

Cabin air filter maybe?
Mine was completed for$760AUD including GST. $930 would still make me cry!

The joy of Sydney having one dealer $1300, Gosford $1340. Wollongong now closed. Newcastle no service technician. Orange I don't recall. That's for diesel 12month/15000km

Ineos really needs to update its Web site and give a list of current operational dealers and service centres with Ineos service techs and tooling.
Hearing about closures, slow parts, long repair times, and lack of techs and expensive basic servicing through forums will start to erode confidence in the brands support for it's product and can discourage people from buying. The best vehicle is only as good as it's after sales support.

EEK!

Gosford is the one closest to me, but I’m not paying $1300 for such service. Would be cheaper to head back up to SLRV for the service.
