Hi all. I have registered at the last minute. Is anyone heading up from or through Phoenix? I would feel safer traveling with a group or another vehicle.

Thank you.
We'll be heading up from Goodyear on Wednesday. I'm not sure what time we'll be able to leave yet though, depends on how many work meetings get scheduled between now and then. Send me a PM and we can at least exchange numbers.

Looking over the trails, they are pretty short trails as a whole. The longest trail is maybe a half day, and shortest a couple of hours. Might be some time for other stuff after a trail is done if folks are interested. Can play it by ear. But I am up for anything. ( except Pritchett in my new truck ) Ok, and BFE....

That's by design. I asked Mike about the length of the trail runs and he said he wanted people to have time to relax, interact and enjoy all that Moab had to offer. There are get togethers scheduled for the evenings. Dinner by Warner Ineos on Saturday night.

So, per the Ronny Dahl question, what was the first thing upon arrival?

Crack a beer? Wet your boots? Start the kettle?

The pre-Oktoberfest overlanding is an event on its own. Looks like fun, one of these days I’d love to explore Colorado.

I will start heading out from the Tahoe area on Wednesday with a stop at Bonneville. Arrive in Moab Thursday afternoon. Look forward to meeting y’all.

Well, 2 days with little or no coverage. But much fun and unexpected challenges.

Day 2 start, waiting on Migs and 4x4
IMG_3034.jpeg
Picked up Migs and we went on watching the views
IMG_3037.jpeg
Then Lunch west of Nucla CO, and iron fab caught up
IMG_3040.jpeg
Then Crazy Star Trek weeds heading west
IMG_3044.jpeg
Mtn 4x4 caught up for dinner and camping WAY … above the Dolores river on a cliff.
IMG_3047.jpeg
New places, new friends, and cocktails and lies under the stars …. as was the original plan!

Day 3
Four Grenadiers in the dust.
Obligatory line up…yes. Green is a popular color 🙄
IMG_3063.jpeg
Then onward down the Rimrocker

IMG_3074.jpeg
These are mostly old uranium mining roads
IMG_3080.jpeg
Pretty relaxed cruising til the lunch spot. Beautiful views were spoiled by fire smoke.
IMG_3087.jpeg
IMG_8326.jpeg
Early dinner by buckeye lake. Ironfab’s work schedule meant he had to bail out early.
IMG_3109.jpeg

IMG_8333.jpeg
Again, Many cocktails and lies by the fire, and under the clear night skies…
but the cocktails meant I forgot to take pics of the great stars.
