I was just under my vehicle checking for any oil drips after changing the oil and filter the other night and noticed visible wear occurring on the front drive shaft in two locations.

The wear on the left is metal on metal and the culprit is behind it.

The wear on the right looks obvious as to the source, but I’m surprised it reaches that far (photo angle makes it look closer).

I’ve done 26000 km (16000 ml).

Hard to get a read on the angle, but yours do look to be hanging lower than mine.
The flex conduit is clipped up to a heat shield at the Y connector. I think the other one is a joiner between a poly tube and flex hose fuel line? That is also clipped in. I would need to be on the front bump stops before the driveshaft came anywhere near those items.

Interesting to compare the position of items between vehicles. Your photos seem clear of potential issues. Thx for the photos, was useful to compare.

My vehicle’s going in early May to have the HVAC replaced (same model HVAC I’ve been informed, no updates since release). I’ll cable tie them both back today and see what they have to say in May.

I had something similar to your one on the right I cable tied the conduit up further and has not happened since.
