All,
I am in the process of installing the OWL Vans compressor under the drivers seat and I have a couple of questions that I hope someone on this forum can help me with. So here we go: The OWL kit comes with wires made up for the switch, but it doesn’t have an ignition trigger and it appears that once installed the compressor will be able to run with or without the ignition on. I am planning to wire the power supply (2 - 40 amp wires) to the 5th open position in the 2nd Littlefuse busbar. I have ordered the stud, etc. I think the 2nd Littlefuse busbar pulls from the Auxillary battery so in theory if I did leave the compressor on without the ignition it would only drain the auxillary battery? Can anyone confirm this?
Alternatively, I looked at the Agile Off-road installation and the run a trigger wire to the fuse box and use and open position to run the trigger switch for the compressor. This will make sure that the compressor won’t be able to turn on without the ignition.
Based on the wiring diagram from ARB, posted above, it would appear that I can likely install the unit with the OWL kit, but to have it trigger off of the ignition I would need to run a separate trigger line to the fuse box and then to the middle of the switch?
On the OWL kit - I am not entirely sure how the power supply feeds the switch, but I cam guessing that there is a power supply pulled from compressor that is always hot and the switch then triggers the relay to run the compressors. Any help with this would be appreciated.
Thanks
