I'm on a Windows PC and it's there, but not on my iPhone IOS 16.

It wasn’t snowing on my iPad either until I turned it sideways.

You cannot turn off the snow in landscape. But it is not really important.
Snowing on the outside too, so this seems to be some kind of weatherforecast.

@Stu_Barnes Is there a setting that can be activated somewhere to increase font size? The text in the forum on my iPad isn’t very large

Not that I know of. It’s not user selectable from within the forum. The only way is via the management software I think.
