Electronic Throttle Control

If only I had two Grenadiers then I could refer to they or them

Official response - ETC, what ETC.
May I ask if totally removed? Or just the control unit so Big Brother doesn't know?
I'm liking mine, I actually prefer it on economy mode, I guess it's closer to my old Prado in response to foot pressure.
Mine will be going for a service in July before Cape trip.

@Cheshire cat where did you fix the controller and the fob?
Controller was tucked into the outer kick panel in the footwell. The controller is in my centre armrest. My model is the Pro, so fob is separate (no wires). I did initially stick it on the overhead panel where it slots in very well but I preferred the hidden look and now control it via my phone.

tks a lot. mine also wireless so will do as you have done and squirrel away the fob.

I doubt if they would even see it. Mine due in for service end of this month. Haven’t fully decided if I should remove it or not. The paranoid side of me says take it out. Only 15 mins to do so. The pragmatic side says ‘just leave it’.

I think I’m right in saying that if you have your app on the phone, you don’t even need the fob in the vehicle.
There is also a handy setting where you can disable the throttle and help prevent theft of the vehicle.

Did you perform this;

Fitted Pedalbox Pro and went for a quick spin. Eco mode not for me as nothing seems to happen for half a pedal press. I could play around with the +/- keys on the fob but not had time. The City mode seems a lot more responsive than stock. Also seems good in Low mode. The last one Racing or Sport is nuts! Need a proper few runs to test it all out.

Not sure if my tinkering has upset it but it is now telling me it's due a service in 47 days. I collected it last September!!!

To think that our Grenadier is at the low end of its power capability at 282 hp from the factory. So much room for improvement, aka, mods.

My son tells me that this week a bmw 340i with a tuned B58 stock engine did 0-60mph in 2.17sec 0-100mph in 4.76sec. Just a tad better than the Grenny’s times.

wonder if they fixed the indicators at the sametime?

In preparation for a leisurely 3 day road trip to FNQ next week to visit the grand kids, I installed an evcX Ultimate 9 throttle controller. Fairly straightforward thanks to those who have shared their knowledge and experience on this forum!🙏
The only snag was an inability to connect with Bluetooth... the headunit changed settings OK but not the app.
This is an issue with Android. not Apple.
The Ultimate 9 lads in Melbourne could not have been more helpful.
Apparently instead of inserting the last 4 digits of the barcode serial number in the ID on the App, one simultaneously depresses the "mode" and "set" buttons which provides the head unit's unique ID. Using this solution resulted in almost instantaneous pairing.
The various throttle modes are certainly different!
I was pleasantly surprised at how "Economy 3" made for very smooth travelling around suburban streets ...especially with the proliferation of 40kmh school zones!😇

The unit is brilliant and has to be set for the situation...you could literally launch yourself from parked in your driveway to the middle of the street in one fowl move...Ultimate 5 is my go-to which still needs subtle acceleration pedal control but what a difference to the vehicle...enjoy your trip(y)

You can get 400hp from a 2L 1960s iron blocked Audi engine used in the 1970s Porsche 924. 290 km/ hr.
Just don't expect it to last very long.
I'm looking fwd to seeing all the tuned Grens out there competing with the 6.3L G wagens on 22" rims. On every street corner in London 2 days ago. My wife "how ridiculous". Me "🥱"

Just installed the PedalBox Pro (purchased from DTUK Performance) and boy what a difference it makes.

Gone are the lethargic take off's and hesitant reactions . . .thank goodness! It now responds the way my old X5 did and the diesel lump finally gets to sing a happy tune in Sport Pro mode.
I'm one happy Grenny driver now! (y):) money well spent. . . such a pity Ineos didn't rectify this shortcoming during their exhaustive Built for Purpose testing.
Now I need to run some economy tests to see how the various modes will affect my wallet.
