For those installing the electric steps into a RHD vehicle, the above white/green socket can be found in the front passenger footwell attached to a side panel.

I just wanted to chime in here. I purchased the Electric Side Steps from Summer auto parts, The communication was all through Whatsapp and they couldn't be more helpful. Cost was $1200 with shipping to NY and they were here in about a 7-10 days. I just got done installing them this past weekend and I have to say I am very impressed with the quality - they look and work fantastic. While the instructions are pretty bad, the pictures and comments from the forum here definitely helped with the install. One tip I will give here is I reused most of the rubber gaskets by cutting a hole in the middle and shaving the backside so they sit flush on the inside where the bolts are - see below. I only used the plastic card on each side of the motor mount since you basically need to drill out that plastic piece in order to place the bolt in there. I did use some silicone to seal here. Overall its a great product and I would highly recommend them.

Must say I had the exact same experience with Summer Auto Parts they were really easy to deal with. My steps shipped yesterday (new version with LED Light Strips) just wondering how long would the install take for a first timer? (I only have one full day before I leave on a trip but don't want to start the install unless I have enough time to complete it)

Yes, is now plug n play. Give yourself 3 or 4 hours I guess to fit. Suggest laying everything out and read the info here. I used the supplied plastic strips and no silicone. See how it goes. Hopefully yours is set up for RHD. If not easy fix via the app (and if needed direct conversation with summer auto who were very helpful)

Got mine mounted. First step took a while because I didn’t know how many shims I needed. I’d like to believe that all the trucks are the same. So for the next person installing, after back and forth I used one shim for each of the bolts on the fronts of the brackets. Backs don’t need any.

Yes, all need to be cut out to fit. Easy job.

Yes just cut them. I have done that on the ones I installed. That is one of the things that just takes time on this install. Once you do one side the next side is half the time.

Cool Best to use Hot Knife or Jigsaw ?? (not that it can be seen I suppose but I like to be neat) also, did they provide a template or do you need to mark out yourself ??

Just a fine tooth hacksaw is all that's needed really or a jigsaw. You might want to drill say a 6mm diameter hole in each corner so you have a small curve at the corners. Each cut is only around 2-2.5" long thereabouts. No template is supplied - at least not with mine.

Just checked and I have about 1mm clearance between the bottom of the sill join and the bracket where the red arrow is. Mostly I used the shims for final adjustment. Worth double checking you have the correct bracket for location.

Just want to say thank you for all of this information you have posted, has made me purchase a set myself and try the installation, just don’t want to mess up as you could understand.

Fairly straight forward really. Best to put a day aside so not rushed but only half a day I guess required. Locate and place everything out first and sort your wiring runs. From memory I had two slightly different style of bolts (with tangs) one will fit in a certain hole whilst the other will not basically - with my kit at least.

I noticed in this video that they fed the pedal control leads through the backseat drain holes, did you find that was easiest for install? Also they earthed in the backseat foot well. I noticed the power for RHD is not the same as in video so I think I’m going to power and a fuse under rear seat, thoughts?

I didn't want to use the drain so I used a grommet in the rearseat floor closer to the door. The wires then come out closer to the motor and closer to the sill under for more protection. If you have the LED version install the steps with the cable to the rear (note: the endplate is removeable and there is more cable inside that can be pulled out for an exact length). I used the rearseat earth and power from under the rearseat so only the CANBUS cable had to go forward
