WAY stronger when mounted to the tubes.Should mount to the tube bracket mounting holes, not the tube itself.

We designed it to have the tiniest gap above the middle 2 supports so that most of the support comes from the system but it can flex down and rest on the supports depending on the load. It’s very elegant (we love your word!) and optimized to minimum height but maximum load. More to come!!Looks great! I'm gonna have to replace my home brew t-slot solution now... Yours is much more elegant.
Does it rest on the factory roof supports too, or just the mounting tubes?
It’s L-Track, to match the Grenadier, but purpose built for the roof rail application. There are trade offs in any engineering design. We utilize 1/2” Aluminum for strength and rigidity, leveraging some of the roof if needed, versus a “true cross BAR” as you state, which would add much more height with the benefit of more rigidity and better access under the track for T clamps, etc. We aren’t competing with each other, we are solving for different problems! Each comes with an engineering trade off. From th pic it appears to be simply a piece of L-track. Not really made for this purpose and much weaker than a true cross BAR.
