Drowning my Grenadier (a sorry, soggy saga)

I don't have a hire vehicle, I had a Corsa for 14 days, which was not to my taste, but I'm driving our Mazda MX5 California, Grenadier, 2.7T to MX5, 1287kg.
As I recall, I made some suggestions about some very reserved and tasteful mods to the Corsa, but you said, “nooooo, I don’t think the rental company would let me,” so if you won’t take helpful advice, I just don’t know what else can be done.

I'm sure you hardly notice the difference?

I know the feeling, have a Fiat 124 Spider. Potholes become a nightmare

595 Abarth and then back to the Grenadier, no difference at all.🤔
You are right in the fact of having to watch for the potholes........in the Grenadier 🤣

The NFU claims engineer visited Chandlers yesterday and so far as I can tell nothing was progressed. I will chase NFU claims on Monday as Chandlers are saying that they will not get back to the vehicle until towards the end of June now.

I would strongly suggest to Ineos Automotive that they need to pay close attention to the relationship between dealers, service agents, parts supply and the motor insurance industry or insurance costs will spiral and the vehicle will be uninsurable in the UK, (a bit like Range Rovers in central London).

Insurance was a worry/problem to start, we don't need that again.

Jeremy, get them to right it off, otherwise you could be waiting months. The costs involved for this delay could be astronomical, if you had a hire car for the whole period. Furthermore, once the engine is changed there is no guarantee that the car will be fixed. Better to start again.......

Except, unfortunately, it isn't Jeremy's decision to make.

Agree, but Jeremy has said earlier that he would wish for his vehicle to be repaired.

If he was hiring a like for like vehicle, then it is obvious after 4 months what decision would be made. Look like the forecast could be another 4 months. Years ago when I had a BMW smacked from behind, the like for like rental vehicle ran into thousands of £'s.

Either way I hope the problem is resolved soon.

Who needs a F250 HD? Morgan’s new marketing campaign - “Git ‘er done.” Maybe with a guy in a dusty cowboy hat and his faithful dog at his side.

I see a tow bar and electrics on that Morgan. As a classic car I presume it preceeds type approval regulations. I doubt whether new Morgans have type approval for such useful items 😀

That's a 1972 Morgan with the modern trailer wiring plug.
My '64 Fiat sedan has a towbar - and no trailer wiring!
Original owner towed a caravan with it.

I lust after a different type of Morgan, unfortunately despite best intentions looks like it won't get approved for Oz.

The previous version was available here with some modifications (headrests, heat shields & indicators) to meet the prevailing ADRs, but I believe the new Super 3 (and all current Morgans) don't meet the current ADRs so are not available?
