Added sources of UK crimping tools to the first post.

US users have plenty of choices on Amazon.

If you're using the open barrel pins... the below tool works well for the few you might be doing. If I was an auto sparky I'd likely be using closed and have all the various closed barrel tool sizes required but for the 4 or 5 I've done this sufficed.... does dt and dtp

Make sure you choose DTP plugs. AliExpress often changes it to DT plugs if you are not careful.

@TheDocAUS Do you know for which cable diameters the DTP‘s work?

Most of us use/will use the DTP for LED Lights…. so max. ~150w , so half of the ampere rate what we can „put“ on the connector. And I think even with 300w and 25A we will no reach 3m cable length…… I have used for 2m cable 2.5mm2, and the side lights have 18W, 1mm2 and less than 20cm cable.

@Lollo050968 My idea is to change one of the 2 way plugs on the roof to a 4 way and use the second pair for a solar charging panel… I know I need to find a way to get the cable to the battery…

I have used the forward right electrical roof outlet for light bar (oem) and used the two rear outlets for Lazer work lights. That leaves forward left free.

I would like port and starboard roof lights.

Searching for a way to isolate forward left outlet so it works independently from rear ports. Not sure yet how best to do that.

That would mean powering two lights from one port. Is it possible with the DTP's to split 2 into 4. I know there's 4 ways but can you simply slot a combination together rather than detaching current two pins and splitting the wires into 4?

I am not electrically minded unfortunately.

Take a 4wire (4x 1mm2), crimp 2 cable together and on the otherside two /two pins DTP, use each not higher than with 100-150W, nothing will burn.

Do you also wish to operate the lights independently? The post above by Lollo050968 indicates how to power both from one outlet, however they will still need to be independently switched ( probably externally) at the light.
