Americas Dealer inventory increasing… good or bad?

Just for build time contexts, mine is 22663 and that was built in July 24. I was told on delivery that there was only one more to come to that dealer before the shutdown (that he had been notified on the day of my delivery). It would be interesting to see how high the VINs got before the shutdown in September.
To the point that was made by @anand, my dealer told me there were hundreds either in port awaiting customs clearance, secondary QC, or en route - so it would take time to bleed out the finished goods inventory before you see an interruption based on VIN. I think that inventory wash out will actually be more apparent for delayed builds in a couple of months - something like a 4 month trailing effect.

Interesting. I’ll have to check that out. In your case, what was the additional option?
For me it was the tow package and if I've got the dollar amount a little bit wrong I apologize that's just what's in my head. it was enough to notice while unpacking the costs, taxes, and fees that made my OTD price more than I anticipated.

I'll not recap the story here but I didn't know my vehicle was inbound until 2 weeks prior to its arrival at the port of Tacoma, Washington in July and my Trialmaster was not supposed to arrive until Q4, perhaps December but wasn't enen showing as in production on the configuration page on the website.

Whether or not to select the topackage was a struggle for me. I don't really tow, but it would have been nice to have as a recovery point. it wasn't the money, I really dislike the way that thing looks hanging off the back of the vehicle. I incorrectly surmised that I could have it added later without much difficulty.

I later learned that the tow package comes with an amazing amount of electrical infrastructure that I'm glad came on the vehicle. All in all it was a happy accident. I wound up embracing the look and made it more conspicuous.

I’m going to have to call the dealer. I can’t figure it out.

FYI: I “rebuilt” my TrialMaster again on the website to get an idea of any price increase(s) and I was surprised to see there was close to a $3500 increase from my pre-order price🤯

Everything jumped a few grand several months ago - if I redo my build (picked it up last March), it’s almost 5k higher.

i think the $3500 is increase is the 2025 model year price. When I go back and look at my build that was never built, the price is adjusted accordingly, mine was closer to $5,000.

Could it be a dealer installed item added/left off the tally? Floor mats and seat covers were around the that $550 price iirc.

IDK. I had both those options in my build originally. I did ask them to delete the covers after finding that aftermarket covers fit better, and they agreed.

But that doesn’t explain the price difference, so I’ll have to call.
