Chuckle in Your Day! (AKA the joke thread)

So.... easter Monday.....working in my shed framing out some walls and I turn around and find I have an assistant.
Just a Magpie walking on through instead of taking the long way around.

The shed inspector, they're everywhere.
We have an inspection team that checks all 10 bays and every job in the shed every morning.

Where the banana for scale?
Glad to hear that the banana the current standard unit of scale in photos.

30 years ago it was a packet of Red Marlboro, 20 years ago it was a Nokia phone, now all we seem to get is a ruler placed next to photos of items which is not nearly so good as you don't know without careful inspection whether its a 6" or 12" ruler (15cm or 30cm in new money)

No matter how small, it's always 12"

This video from Queensland police is funny as you hear the cop trying to stop himself from calling them idiots.
Young couple rescued in the middle of nowhere on a closed track.

Cape Melville is a extraordinary place to visit (when open). I can see why they were tempted to be dumb. It is stunning, mountains made of boulders. All images taken from the Robinson R44 helicopter.

It was a must do location on my 4 day helicopter trip around Cape York.

Day 1 trip report here, Port Douglas to Haggerstone Island via Cape Melville:

Here are the links to each of the four days across Cape York by helicopter. It is uplifting to just think about that trip again.

Looks fantastic.

This old video from 1985 on the Australian Commando Regiment made me laugh, particularly when it got to 9:20 and the Brigadier walks over, puts his boot up on the bumper of an old Landrover, has his pipe in hand, then goes on to tell the history of the Australian Commando Regiment.
Any doubts in our connection to Britain just went right out the window.,

Or when this guy face plants on a rappelling exercise and yells out "oh f**k" and they leave it in the official film.

I looked up Eromanga and that is also a pretty amazing part of Australia.
A bit different but.........
Just had major flooding a few weeks back.

It is where I like to visit, I do not live there. Home of the really, really big dinosaurs.

full

A life size 3D skeleton has been printed of that dinosaur, Cooper - that's right 3D full size skeleton. I have seen it (in pieces).

Once stage 4 is complete (recently approved and financed) there will be full size skeleton of that dinosaur, Cooper, as part of the building complex (part of the Stage 4 build).

They are working on excavating a dinosaur skeleton, in the field, bigger than Cooper right now. I suspect it will be top 3 in the world, in terms of size. Cooper is huge but the second one is even bigger. Top 3 would make it MASSIVE. Same species as Cooper, roughly 10-15% bigger.

I should be in Eromanga now, but these injuries from the accident are proving to be a problem even 2 years later. At least I am finally getting better.

People drive through Eromanga and do not even stop at the Museum which is already world class after stage 3.

It is an amazing museum in the middle of nowhere (but close to where Cooper was found).
