Just read the difference/explanation of UK (correct) & US (wrong) gallons. They are both British measurements but the US one was for wine & the UK one was for ale. As we have real men & women in the UK we obviously went for the ale measurements rather than the softies wine measurements. Well, that's how I read it

Certainly no help during WWI or WWII.
I believe the correct term would be "recent immigrants" during their NASA years. Most all became American citizens before 1955 and, appears, did not rely on American welfare. Need more like them.
