I've seen this discussed vaguely, but I'd like to know the specifics as to how others have done this. Does the grill need to be removed? What tools will do the job? Any pics? I hate chrome...
Thanks,
Duane

I did this. I just pushed them out from the inside of the grill. There are tabs that need to be pushed down and through. I could not, however, do it without breaking some of them. Therefore, if you decide to do this, you are committed unless you have a more delicate hand than I did. I like the look better (I hate chrome), but wish there was a blacked out alternative to put back in place of the chrome ones. I did not take pics of the process so I know this is not much help...

Thanks for the reply. It does help. I do feel the tabs. I wasn't sure if the strips were metal - it sounds like they're plastic like all the other trim pieces. I'm not sure how delicate my mitts are either! 😁

3M sells a chrome delete kit. It gives you thin pieces of black vinyl that you can wrap over the chrome.

While mine was in getting PPF'd I asked about it and they weren't to keen on trying at this time. I thought that was odd but after hearing they could break, I'm guessing why they didn't want to try it. Maybe I will give it a go and if successful I'll run them up to to shop have it done in flat black. Thanks for the thread didn't realize this was something I really do want to do!

I had the guy put vinyl over mine when I had the roof wrapped:

Do you have any close up pics without the chrome? Wondering if it looks odd with the tab slots or not!

I just noticed one of mine has broken and lost a piece about 3 inches long, thinking about pulling the rest…

Does anyone have a close up pic of a grill with them removed and nothing in place?
