We are mostly wary of cheap Chinese products, but you have to acknowledge their ingenuity to produce this for under $20k.

I think the word is stealing, not copying. China steals intellectual property on an industrial scale.I admit it - I am racist. I really dislike nations copying like this!
Strange as it may seem, China's emission standards for new cars are at least as stringent as the west.(China 6b is more restrictive than Euro 7 for example)It looks less like the grenadier than the grenadier looks like the old defender. If these Chinese copies were basic electronics free vehicles they would be pretty good for overlanders. But to sell them in the west they will need all the same emissions crap as everything else and so will not be a good buy.
They’ve been making them since the 1960s.
I wonder if the body panels are, aluminium, plastic or Chinese steel?
Rear looks like it copied the new defender
Wikipedia tells me it was a lot earlier than thatWhere was gunpowder invented around the 9th century?
