I don’t really have an issue with the stock truck right now (Trialmaster + Winch and Sliders) and I think if the MT Baja King 255/85 r17s don’t rub at full flex on the existing 17” rims, then that would give me enough clearance for my needs without a lift. The problem I have is weight of my existing gear. I am trying to decide if I should pick up a trailer to tow or take it all in/on the truck. My philosophy is to keep it as stock as possible, but I need to carry about 1300lbs for my overland build, or I will tow it all in a trailer. My quick calculation is that I will have about 500lbs room on carrying capacity if I carry it on the truck, but don’t know what that will do to the clearance and ride. I also don’t know the first thing about towing…

Can I do this stock, or should I add eibach 1.75” springs? If I do the springs, will I be ok without the shocks? I know they make heavier rated stock springs, but if I am buying and installing springs already, I might as well go for a small lift.

I also am wondering if I need to do anything to the suspension if I just tow all the weight.

I greatly appreciate the opinion and advice of the forum. Thanks!

Thanks this is great for understanding the actual capacities.

My question… do the iebach 1.75” lift add payload capacity or just make it taller? Has anyone had experience with heavier payloads on a stock Grenadier? Were new springs needed?
