This subject definitely illicit’s the most schoolboy humour by a long way.
Slots, slits, fingers, key shafts, holes, dark. Difficult not to snigger at some point. 😆

Illicit has elbowed Elicit out of the room 😄
You have naughty things on your mind!
I glued a copper crush washer around my keyhole.
See, a copper has entered the room 😉

Seem to recall that Suburu had a little light built into their key.
In the 70s?
Porsches and Benzes just had a key.
Maybe the dealer threw in some Jap tech as a sweetener?

Saab used to use a luminous ring around the ignition cylinder of the early 900s for exactly this reason. Of course, anyone who was not familiar with the vehicle couldn’t find the ignition anyway as it was between the two front seats!

Air-cooled 911s (in the early-to-mid 90s, at least) had a light on the key head.
Mine's a 1978 model and as with my '81 928 has a plain Jane key.
Early 90s Porsches collaborated with Toyota , and maybe that's when things got fancy!
