This has been a weird experience but I think it's almost over. I started trying to buy a Grenadier near my house and the dealer was very friendly in person. They didn't have what I wanted at the time so I placed an order. I got no calls about it ever again. When the news about the seats came out I knew it would push my order back by quite a while. I tried calling to find something in stock and didn't hear back until I canceled my deposit. I then tried another dealer close to me and found the perfect model, they just needed to check if it was in stock. I never heard back. I called a few days later and spoke to a different sales person there about the same model. They never called me back. I then tried for one about 8 hours away, they had a model but it needed to be shipped to them. I put down a despot and 8 days later still hadn't heard from anyone again. I just canceled it and found Mossy in San Diego. They actually seem to want my business and have called me several times to make this happen. I pick it up on Sunday (if all goes well.) Is this happening everywhere? I'm used to service not getting back to me, but most places you can't get dealers to stop calling you. Is Ineos doing a less incentive focused dealership maybe?

I would imagine with the pause in production there's a lot of scrambling for available units, which is likely why you're not seeing typical customer service behavior - they're likely swamped.

Sorry man - hope it all works out. I think the answer is “it depends.” It seems like some are on the ball, some have been pretty chaotic from the start. Seems like Colorado, Idaho and Utah have been sharp. Mossy has been pretty visible from the outset, but a lot of these dealers are not off-road or truck specialists - they’re usually in dealer groups that sell BMW’s or Bentley’s or whatever. They all try their best, and all struggle to get information and parts. It’s kinda rough, but you sort of have to go in with the expectation you’re figuring it out together

Remember, you are dealing with car salesmen, not the highest level of thinking out there.Frankly, it's your job to call them back on a regular basis. You might have had your vehicle, or at least useful information, quicker and closer to home. Rusnak treated me well and was communicative, but it's not a dealership issue, it's an employee issue.

I know this is a Cali thread but up here in PNW both the Seattle and Portland dealers have been awesome. So if you ever need help, they have your back.

I had a similar experience with my Toronto dealership—no emails or phone calls for weeks. I finally got a call back from the financial manager, who apologized for the miscommunication and explained that INEOS has treated them the same way. They were embarrassed to tell their customers that they had lost communication with the manufacturer, had no answers to any questions, and didn’t know what was going on.

Since many INEOS dealerships are acting similarly, I believe INEOS plays a major role in this lack of service. However, when I picked up my Grenadier and met them in person, they were very professional and helpful. They installed the 2.5" lift springs and will be doing the shocks for my Grenadier. I’m very happy with their service after the pickup.

Your experience mirrors mine with the exception of the deposits. My original dealer in Northern California never materialized and I switched to the dealer near Portland. No communication for 8 months and then 6 weeks before delivery the Trialmaster I ordered was inbound despite not shown as being produced yet. Ultimately I am not complaining but the vehicle I speced was not the vehicle I was offered. What I got was a bit of an upgrade ahead of schedule. I have no regrets but the process was interesting.

I bought my Fieldmaster from Eliot Bay Ineos in Seattle. They did a great job. Price Family Ineos Grenadier in San Rafael, CA (30 min north of San Francisco) has been open for 2 months and took delivery of some 300 units that were destined to another dealership in the Bay Area that never got off the ground. Great team and they have a service center.

Tom Price is / was the man in California since making his mark in the 1970s. His son Nick is at the helm now of the Price Family Dealership Group and we welcome Price Ineos to the many brands they sell in California and elsewhere.

Rusnak? Same experience if it was them. Ended up at Sierra. Much better experience for me.

I took delivery of my white Fieldmaster on Monday. Price Family Ineos is the dealership I visited, it was a super easy transaction - albeit it was a long drive for me from the South Bay.
I dropped by on the Sunday before, matched my need with one of the stock on the lot, decided to go ahead overnight and called Drake on Monday morning. They gave me something to sign digitally, got the 2.9% approved and I got the car that evening with 2 more signatures in person. Highly recommended.

Fortunately, Price opened a dealership in Marin County and they have been great! Responsive, friendly and knowledgeable. Jason, the service manager has been awesome.
welcome to the club, I bought my Grenadier in Seattle but have visited the Price family Dealership twice. If you need service down in the South Bay call my friend Nick at Exclusive British European. He is a Land Rover expert but has worked on Grenadiers.
