BDM Leather Storage Bags for under the front seats & other areas

@DCPU I know that you can buy airplanes VAT free if they are first imported to the Isle Of Man and then sell them to Europe - with some tricks, although legally. They say.

Isn't it possible to do this with the bags as well? 🤔

Front Runner make some good ones...

I have 6 of these, for overlanding - kitchen, car spares, equipment etc. They are sturdy, stackable, and collapse flat if required. If I recall, their size is selected such that two fit neatly side-by-side in the rear floor of the old defender 110, as does Front Runners 'Wolf Pack' rigid version. Or 2x2 to fill the floor area.

I'll be using these in the Grenadier, until (or in addition to) a rear drawer solution

Yes, they are very good. Better than the Bush Company ones. Yes they are designed to fit the Wolf Packs.

I wonder if FR can be convinced to make some custom sizes... that fit in the various Grenadier crevices

I'd like to say that they would, but girthed volumes of vehicles it's likely to be not worth their while.
This goes the same for many things Grenadier unfortunately

Yes, I remember that kicking off. Lewis Hamilton was one of those people accused of abusing the scheme. I believe it was actually an EU wide law allowing zero VAT on leased planes, but the IoM had a particularly user friendly setup such that a disproportionate volume of planes sold across Europe were all channelled through the island.

Wasn't that to do with something around the Isle of Man was never in the EU (nor the UK)?

No - it's an EU law exempting planes bought in a certain manner and used for certain purposes from VAT.

I have asked a local company to see what they can do. If they can't provide a useful quote, will order a set of BDM ones as a price guide, so we all know the eventual price.

I have sent stuff to Australia and not been charged customs. I think we should be a little ore positive. I suppose I could go on the customs website (all down to value of item).

I bought storage pouches from 5.11

They are a good fit, robust and a good value.

The Mil-Tec Bundeswehr Kleine Einsatztasche should also work well. I just don't have a car to verify yet...
