Battery %

I have the Noco boost GB70 which is more than powerful enough for the Grenadier and I have used it to help stranded motorists and boats and tractors. Stop start compatible
And with a Halfords Trade Card you get 20% off most things!

No, I do have a CTEK charger - maybe I should do that.
That will probably sort the issue out. Certainly has with mine. 150 mile drive yesterday and battery at 99% charge after using smart Victron 5amp charger overnight on Friday. I may get a bigger charger though to cope with both batteries maybe 15A or 20A so I can do maintenance charges when on our travels and at campsites or guest houses with power hook up.

The other thing is that I turned start stop off for the journey to the port so that I could maintain a good battery charge.

I always turn the stop/start off, it's a F@$%ing nuisance! Back to the battery, 7hrs driving yesterday and mine says 83% (best ever 84%)
Just checked voltage and main battery is 12.58V, aux battery is 13.02v, so according to the charts 12.58 is close to accurate at 83%.
As to the aux at 13.02v, lord alone knows ( will do another reading in a bit).
NOCO GB40 is what I have and it has also started and old tractor, these things are beasts and well worth £110 ish.
As to the weather, we chucked the very wet towel in at the weekend on our hols in Devon and Cornwall, it pissed down for 12 days!!

I have this to for our two cars. Works so well for multiple jumps before re charging. I also like the fact you can use it as a work light.

I've just bought that from Halfords. £20 off and free delivery.
Thanks. Will it fit under the passenger seat?

I am often away for periods of time and with my LR Defender I used a very efficient solar panel to trickle the batteries through the OBD connector. Anyone got any thoughts on this method for the IG?

I have used portable solar power on my Defender and now on my Grenadier but not through the OBD connector. There are easier places to connect I think

Just asking because I have no clue around NATO plugs. Could you, if your solar panel had a mppt controller, wire something up and recharge through the NATO plug? I see the military has created ability to charge your phone and there are camp lights. Thinking out loud.

Possibly - but my solar panel (for this specific job) has an ODB connector.

I use one for the audi connected directly to the battery and suckered to the rear rhs quarter for panel. Has worked very well these last 7 years. Will look for some similar set up for the Gren

@Tomdoc & @ECrider ~ is the solar panel mounted inside the vehicle or outside?
Mine is located inside, suckered on the window pane and resting on the side of the trim. Probably not the most efficient position but has worked well.
