(The battery and monitor thread )Car dead in the middle of the woods

Hi all.

Car is dead.

Battery was at 50% 2 hours back.
We now packed all together and car does not start.

Is there ab Ineos support hotline I can call on a Sunday?

Thanks
I don’t know if there is a hotline although there ought to be. I was told by my dealers to call the AA but that’s no good to you in the middle of the woods as @Miki says a start pack needs to be got to you if you are not too remote.

Anyone on the forum nearby with a NOCO starter? Worth a try.
I recon we should start our own assistance call out. I am more than willing but am in Devon so no good on this occasion.

You may be able to swap the batteries over, or at least the connection ?
Alternatively you could connect them in parrallell (ie '+' to '+' ) a jumper wire from Red to Red .
Earth is common so no need to do anything to the Black ('-')

What's your position Das Mo?

Lat/Long or WhatThreeWords and hopefully a forumite can help?

Did you try: „Wende Dich innerhalb Europas* an die Nummer 0330 053 0885, und wir helfen Dir, wieder auf die Straße oder ins Gelände zu kommen.“

Back on the road.

A Landcruiser from the 80ies fixed me.

This is all very weird. Battery showed 100% charge after only 5 min.

Very concerned about the 2 battery setup with CTEK and system not showing any info on load of the 2. Also CTEK should have kept charge to start, no?

What a shit.

When you're back: If this didn't happen overnight or if you were in general not driving, we'll be interested why the generator didn't charge the primary battery. It should even work without the 2nd battery at all.

Have you got any auxiliary loads connected directly to the service/second battery ?

We camped at that spot for 2 nights.
Fridge connected via the 12V plug in the boot. Did not find time to wire it to the CTEK. But assumed boot one is safe to use for that purpose, no?

Hy,
have you checked the voltage on each battery?
A possible solution: If you can´t find the fuse´s, change the batteries.
ATTENTION for changing:
At first disconnct the ground-cables on both batteries, after this diconnect the positiv on both.
At reconnect, connect the positiv on both batteries first, and at last connect the ground-cables to the batteries.

The CTEK normaly connect both batteries together for 10 sec for the start, if the starterbatterie has not enough power.
(If this function in use, then the fault-led goes on)
If this fails please check the two fuses (300A) on incoming and outgoing of the CTEK (i dont know the location).
Here are the <link to the german manual> , <here in english>

Surely the boot 12v socket is wired direct off the main battery as it is a standard feature on all cars and not just those with aux battery.
