To save me watching , what is the 1 line summary?

3 point summary: (obtained from fast forwarding and reading the 'closed caption' ribbon)

* A laptop, LR software, secondary power supply, and internet connection are required to revive a ND which has a flat battery (in this case from continually opening the doors (more than 15 times) over a 3 day camping trip... !!! now that WAS "interesting" The electric park brake can't be disconnected without power so the bricked ND was dragged onto a flat bed and the tyres destroyed in the process
* He admits he asked for special treatment from Ineos Australia to supply him a Grenadier (MeMeME!!) ...and they (continually) refused. "But they promised!" (he's not learned that nodding one's head can indicate "I hear you" NOT " OK we have a deal / I agree"!
* He's ordered a 2.8L 4 pot auto trans. 70series ...maybe he'll get it mid 2024

His sense of self-entitlement is overpowering at times ... I reached for the anti-nausea tabs supplied with last week's Glyco-prep:poop:

The dude literally starts his video by saying Ineos has frustrated him because “they haven’t given me one on to test drive.” Awww too bad, so sad!

Bruh…Order one, and/or go to the freaking dealer like the rest of us fine people.

I'm not sure I trust his judgement anymore despite the impressive Troopy in the video. He comfortably states that the Toyota 2.8 Turbo revs too high to be any good off road. Has he forgotten about all the four-banger mini-pickups (HiLux) on 38s running hard trails everywhere? Isn't it a gearing issue?

I generally subscribe to the "No Substitute for Cubic Inches" model and I prefer a manual transmission but Ineos/Magna certainly seem to have done their homework and they chose an automatic. Jeep too for that matter. The modern computer controlled slushbox knows exactly which gear to be in to stay right in the middle of the power band - and they're ten times faster than my left foot when it comes to shifting up or down a gear. Longevity aside, aren't the days of lugging a heavy vehicle behind an engine with a heavy flywheel and rotating mass at <1000rpm behind us?

Towing is another matter I guess. I run a 6 cylinder Cummins so what do I know.

He may just be courting controversy (like all YTubers) with his desire for a 4cyl 70 series. It gets him more $.
Like his rants...it produces more interaction.

ASPW's videos and presentation style has become somewhat whingy and unbearable to watch since he has been in Australia. Some of his earlier work when we was in Africa was not too bad to watch.

So he'll spend the coin to buy a new 70 series that he says will be bad off road...but he won't shell out for a Grenadier that he desperately wants???

He's just trying to prove himself the overlanding god he claims to be by getting a free car out of Sir Jim. I honestly hope that Ineos never gives him one. Ever.

This guy breaks "Rule Number One" for me even if he is an expert off-roader and overlander. In the military, we have this rule as a reminder:

Rule number one - Don't be a d***

If you achieve that - then everything else flows fine. You can be as wrong as you want but I may still listen to you....

I am not an expert in his field - but I know when the rule is being broken. So - I will not be taking advice from him.

I hate abbreviations ...
Is there a way to ban the ASPW abbreviation on this forum?
That isn't really an abbreviation, it is his initials
But I agree with you about abbreviations
I like the story of the woman whose elderly relative died and she sent text messages of "Lot's of Love" to all her family, or so she thought.
Until someone explained to her that the abbreviation LOL stands for "Laugh Out Loud" not "Lot's Of Love"
Hi, I heard you mother died LOL just doesn't seem to send the right message.

Thank you, no way I was going to watch it.
