Picked up a set of these ARB Base Rack Auxiliary lights. The U bracket of the supplied mount sits nicely under the upper screw for the grab rail. I put one on each side.

ARB had done a set for a Grenadier previously so knew that the connectors had to be swapped over. They come with DT only. I don't have a Deutsch crimp tool so they did this for me at no cost. DTP is the correct style (you made me go look that up). Ineos have supplied a DTP plug at each outlet. Just need to unplug it from the installed DTP socket and attach to the light.

I am toying with getting the crimp tool , but this might save someone who just wants a couple of plug and play lights.

If you do buy a crimper, this set from CTLAS works really well, but only works on DTP plugs not DT. More info here. Even better if you can find a mate and borrow a crimper.

I was in Lonny the other week on my way to Flinders Island.

Definitely get a crimp tool. You can get a kit with interchangeable jaws - a good inexpensive investment.
A decent crimper tums an amateur into a pro (well almost). Racketed crimpers are definitely better if you want interchangeable jaws for different terminal types. Terminal crimping was a project of mine during lock down, notes here.

Revisiting this post to add a couple of night pictures. Finally got an opportunity in the outdoors! Nice spread of light out to about 25m (82ft).

Thanks to your earlier post, I fitted a similar light to my Grenadier.

Michael

A couple of questions; first, did you attach the strip to the handle using the screws or the 3M tape (or both)? With the lights on it is hard to tell. Second, did you just cut off the plug and replace it with a Deutsch DTP plug? Thanks

I’m trialling their pole clip mounting solution, attaching the LED strips to the grab rail with 2 plastic clips. Not sure how well this will hold up over time, but Teralume said it was worth a try.

I cut the overly long cable and attached a DTP plug. Another option would be to attach a DTP plug to the supplied bare end cable.

These are fantastic - I took a drive up the Sunshine Coast today and picked up a couple of these from Teralume. I got the clips too and have replaced the 3M tape with some magnetic tap which gives a lot more positioning options. Thanks for the info on them - I wouldn’t have known they existed otherwise. 👍

Hi Joey. ARB Toowoomba. I'm certain they would convert and send you a set if you asked. Talk to Lydia. Say you heard of a sweet deal with a DTP plug swap through a Toowoomba customer.
