Am I the only one that thinks the silver factory skid plates are ugly? Was thinking of spraying them with a high heat matte black paint to make them “disappear”. I did something similar to my Wrangler JKU muffler, which was an eyesore. Anyone tackle this yet?

I've got a couple cans of Steel-It black that I picked up for this purpose, although I don't think I'll get to it until it warms up

But then if you use them for their intended purpose they'll look like crap. Its one thing I appreciate about the Rival skids and not having paint on them.

After you've sprayed it once, I think they can always be spot sprayed after a rock crawl.

But unless properly cleaned up the rattle can wont stick and will look poo poo.
Of course. Any painting needs good prep. I plan to clean with alcohol and lightly sand before spraying. Will wait for it to warm up though.
