Another rUK dealer gone.

Got one from Ineos today saying shutting Jardone Kent one down, thought they had months ago...
That went last year.

They say my nearest retailer of Grenadoers is Busseys of Attleborough which is almost 4 hours away!!!
I believe Busseys have sold the most IG in the UK. They have switched to the dealer model and appear to be getting some work from Ineos on custom builds (they are kitting out some Grenadier ambulances). You see a lot of Grenadiers in Norfolk and North Suffolk. And hello to the green one I have seen several times in the last few weeks on the A146 near Norwich (sorry I missed the wave last time) and the Britannia Blue around Bramfield.

Unlike Jardine, who had one IG in their Colchester branch before that closed, Busseys had about 20 on site. When buying it you could see all the colour ranges and options out there. The guy at Jardine's didn't give two hoots about me when I tried speaking to him. I pretty much ended my intention to buy an IG at that point, but just by fluke, we happened to be driving past Attleborough on the A11, and my wife said, let's go down the old road through Attleborough, and we did and saw Busseys and made the quick decision to pop in. They were so much better than Jardine.

However, at 4 hours away, I suspect you wont get to experience them.

Got mine booked in at Busseys for some minor warranty work! only 1hour 45 from me which isnt terrible, and if they're better than Jardine then im not fussed!

I will be interested to hear your feedback about Busseys. Some issues I would rather not talk about on an open site.

I hope to goodness they don't wind up Harwoods of Portsmouth servicing as that is my concern, not too fussed about the retaIl side - I have one already!!
I have just received the same email telling me that Jardine's of Kent have ceased acting as an Ineos dealer / service centre.
I had already been told this by Jardines ( who were by then Stratstones ) on 13th December 2024. The fact that Ineos took 3 months to tell me what I already knew and referred to the dealer by the wrong name doesn't help them in delivering a negative message.

They also suggested I go to Busseys of Attleborough in future. That would be a 2 1/2 hr journey for me.
I live in Sussex so Harwoods in Portsmouth would actually be closer , but I am reluctant to deal with Harwoods as I have heard bad reports from Land Rover owners . I would add that this is of the Harwoods Group generally and not specifically the Portsmouth branch.
Apparently the suggested nearest dealers were selected as being the closest to the old dealer and not by proximity to owners addresses. Again this is information that Ineos have and surely with a little thought and effort could have been used to provide a better service.

Having pointed out these concerns e Harwoods I was then told by Ineos customer services that they were in fact also closing !?
The finally gem of advice that I was given was that I could go to any garage of my choice and as long as they use genuine parts and the correct lubricants etc then my warranty will not be affected .
I , as I'm sure most will agree , do not believe that this is either believable or in any way a satisfactory solution.
I was told that the suggested new service centre will pick up my car and provide a courtesy car in ode to help with the situation.
If this was the case I could live with it but I strongly suspect with the decreasing number of service centres increasing the demand on the few remaining that wait times for servicing ( and courtesy cars ) will be unreasonable.
Ineos really need to get a grip of this as they have seriously under delivered on their well advertised promises when it comes to vehicle servicing and support .

Despite all of this , as I approach 28000 miles driven in my Grenadier , it puts a smile on my face every time I get in it , and there is still nothing else out their that I'd swap if for !
Trying hard to keep the faith !!

Harwoods @ Portsmouth have stopped selling but still doing service I believe. Used them for warranty work and happy with their service.

I was sceptical of Harwoods in general as well down to past experiences and labour costs etc. However I had no experience of the Portsmouth branch and I sought two other forum members reviews and they were both glowing.

So I now have experience of Harwoods Portsmouth and find both Sean in the office and Steve in the workshop absolutely top drawer and I am lucky to have them close by. Having said that once out of warranty I'll carry out most of the servicing myself or use a local garage to keep costs and travel to a minimum.

Harwoods Portsmouth no longer have the sales for the Grernadier and therefore I cannot borrow one while mine is being looked at and no other courtesy car available. Means I have to get the train from Haywards Heath or Brighton to Hilsea, not ideal.
