I know I've seen an aftermarket red roof handle/lashing bar but I can't find it again. Does anyone know who makes the red versions of these?

Just received these in the mail.

Update.. In the last few weeks I've noticed the color of my bars changing, at first a somewhat blue/purple tint and now an almost bronze color. I went back to Amazon and reviewed the product but I didn't see a way to reach out to the seller. They are in China so I'm doubtful I have any recourse. So now I think I'm, going to either have to paint the bars or get them powder coated.
I think we all prefer Gold 🏅

I make some but I use powdercoat, not anodizing. Those amazon/ebay bars are likely using a non UV stable dye. The clear/mill finish anodizing on the factory bars is far less of an issue in UV than Black is. Also made some carbon bars with a UV clear coat.

Resell them on EBay as an exclusive new bronze version.

I ordered the back bars as well. I haven’t received them yet though. Did the seller send you new ones? Do they look better?
Yeah.. another update to the story. The seller reached out to me and said that they had changed the coating to something that was UV resistant and they would send me another set. I haven't gotten them yet but I thought it was good that they responded to the review so quickly.

Thoughts? I'd like to swap for black.

Just a side note for anyone thinking about changing to aftermarket bars. The aftermarket bars are a little thicker than the original. I got a Leitner roof rack which goes around the bars to connect to the car. The black aftermarket bars would not fit in the roof rack, they were wider. I went back to the originals.

Excellent point! I ran into this very problem. I ended up reaming out the holes in the Leitner brackets and it was a PIA. And, the longer I worked at it, the more frustrated I got, which led to bigger tools.. finally had my 1/4" die grinder out and a cylindrical burr. Followed up by touch up paint, cursing and the desire to drink..

Thinking about selling the black ones? 🤔

I won a set of stronger replacement rails at a raffle on the weekend.
Pretty red or shiny black ones, my choice.
Was initially thinking I’d go black (understated), but the red against the scottish white might go OK with the red lambda stickers on the bonnet and rear door, so maybe red it will be.

Of course the question remains is the extra strength needed in the rails, or in the plastic rail holders screwed into the roof lining?? I wonder which is the weakest link.

The rail holders are aluminum and each one is held in place by two bolts going directly into the body. They are strong.

Hey everyone. Yes, the Black bars that we offer are powdercoated. This adds diameter to them and makes certain accessories difficult to add. I am currently testing anodized bars and once they pass UV tests I will offer those as well.
