OK, so I have had my Trialmaster for about a month 850miles. In N Florida. AC blew hard very hot 2 times. After shutting off it seemed to fix it’s self. A lot of vent baffle opening and closing noise as I played with the settings. This morning was a bit chilly in N Florida, 46 degrees, so I started it up and set high heat on auto. Was making very loud vent / baffle noise and not blowing out of the top vents just the floor it seemed. Shut the vehicle off restarted and just used the manual settings still blowing floor only. Played with the vent knob a bit and it seemed to correct. I am 4 hrs from the dealer and I am going to make an appointment to get it looked at amongst other glitches including one time the C11 randomly illuminated, and the alignment being slightly off to the left. Any advice would be appreciated!

The hvac system in these things are egregiously f-ed. The recent interviews should have pressed Lynn Calder on how they plan on fixing it

Try auto mode.

Jax,
We are in a similar situation, albeit slightly more advanced.
Collected vehicle ac worked initially
2 days later ac stoped back to dealer, bled system and topped up.
1st week no ac.
Dropped of at service centre, 2 week repair new ac unit installed.
Had her back for a week.
First real outing, one hour in, overtaking a slower vehicle ac emptied contents into pass' foþwell, smell of burning dash lights engine overheating, orange, 30 seconds later turns red, and goes to vehicle goes into limp mode.
Vehicle retuned to service centre on recovery wagon.
Owned for 5 weeks of which 3 have been with service centre.
999miles on clock vin no 3555.
I hope this can speed your diagnosis, we await our outcome.

G.

The AC/ Heat takes a while to figure out. If your system isn't leaking or physically broken then @HereinDaRockies is right, start with AUTO. After selecting auto, open all the vents, select a realistic temperature and make sure the fan speed is 0... Then go out for a drive and it becomes pretty clear what is does under different conditions.

If it helps, once I get mine back I'll write out the list of conditions and what it does.

I thought in auto mode, fan speed dial serves no purpose?

I say that… but I tried to use Auto yesterday, with temperature set to max - The POS hvac logic has the fan running in full blast blowing cold air. Yeah no shit, the engine is cold.

Ineos absolutely tasked most inept people in the world, to shoestring together this POS hvac. I literally think a community college class on automotive repair could have designed a better system.

Yeah yeah, I went through all of this.. I need to get mine back, the HVAC does work and quite well it just has horrible documentation and isn't how every other HVAC works...

The HVAC is trash on the Ineos. I. have had mine in a few times for blowing dangerously hot air out the rear vents when the AC is on and set to cold. The dealer says they have no idea what is wrong. Ineos knows there is an issue with many vehicles world wide and is "working on it". Thankfully mine works most of the time but when it does decide to crap out its at the worst possible time.

Our field master is in a similar situation. We drove from Georgia after picking it up all the way back up to Michigan. The vents in the rear were blowing cold air, but the fronts were blowing warmer. The backseat was freezing compared to the front. The HVAC definitely needs to be corrected.

You actually heard they are working on it?

I spoke with local dealer last Friday - there is no current fix update/plan for the HVAC system. INEOS have acknowledged and there will be a fix in the future. So, for now, its 18c air in winter!!!

Actually my father's Fieldmaster has the same problem I think!

Saturday I had occasion to take it for a spin, because it was extremely cold overnight and into the morning - and I admit, I "hate" the cold and much prefer the heat, having moved to Florida not understanding it was going to be 90-95F+ for 10+ months, and "a little less hot" for the rest, I sort of miss the odd cold day, so I figured I'd see how it drove in the cold.

And I noticed, at the highest heat setting (manual control , so the temperature dial all the way hot and the fan setting same - I think it's 5? but all the way on) - it makes a loud "knocking" sound. Kick it back down, it stops.

A day later, it didn't do it at first, but then it started.

I figured it's not an end-of-the-world problem but I am both surprised and I hate to say it, relieved? I guess that's a bad word to use - but that other people are experiencing (especially in exact same model etc.)

Thanks for the info.!
