I set up the Fav. Button for the screen to disable the speed click. Just part of my start up routine now. Start car, click seatbelt, Turn off auto stop, Disable Adas Speed click. Drive.
I do the same, occasionally forgetting the ADAS step. Fav button response time is different every use. Sometimes it’s quick, and takes me right to the submenu. Other times is takes me one level up. On several occasions it’s just taken me to a random menu 🤡

🍻 Here’s to a future software update!

I am curious... what are others using the FAV button for, if not to deactivate ADAS?
I don't think I would use it for anything if I didn't want the short cut to the ADAS screen

My Defender has a steering-wheel 'favorite' button that I have set up as follows: short-press = mute; long-press = darkening the center screen entirely. Obviously, the former would be inconvenient with the placement of the FAV button... but it would be handy to darken the center altogether with the push of a single button. I am not aware of an ability to do this with the Grenadier.

I agree. Also FYI--- you can clear/blank the right-hand 2/3rds of the screen by holding the MUTE button for a few seconds. It does not reduce the backlit brightness however.

There's no "shortcut" to dim the display, but the brightness is set independently for with and without lights on

And sometimes it disconnects my phone and sometimes it already disabled even after restart!

It is all part developing that muscle memory. I sometimes forget if I hit the favorite button or not.

I did a similar routine. When I was close to my destination, I hit the off-road suspension button 95% of the time when parking so much that I forgot I did it.

Yes! A prediction: The vehicle's intra-system comms will become understood, in time, and an OBD dongle by hobbiests or the aftermarket will give us an ability to send or automate all kinds of messages over the bus that are currently only available by manually wading through slow touchscreen menus. e.g. pressing a dash-mounted button or knob or simply a photo sensor could send: "SET SCREEN_BRIGHTNESS 50%"

Ineos, in their self-professed spirit of DIY/modding, should release this spec. IMO.

I have a dream... 🤣 🙏

I'll put this on record-- I would throw in some considerable $$ if we got another 10 or 20 or 30 people to do so also, assuming there is an outfit competent to build such a rootkit box.

Does anyone have any updates or insight on when the promised USA software update will be released to turn off the ADAS speed warning all the time?

Back in September I was at the dealer and they told me the software update they promised over the summer to fix the (1) fuel/check engine light error (2) ADAS speed warning, and (3) a few other issues still had bugs. The USA software update was coded/provided by Ineos in the UK and sent to Ineos USA in North Carolina this summer to be uploaded on 6 or so Grenadiers. 5 of the 6 (something like that) had a successful update, but 1 of the 6 Grenadiers with the new software update continued to have the fuel/check engine light error and the update wasn't successful. It puzzled the software engineers and that's why we didn't get the update in July.

Not sure if any of y'all have heard this similar story and if anyone knows anything. I still can't stand the ADAS speed warning, and patiently waiting for the fix.

There was never an officially promised ADAS update... A dealer, specifically a dealer in Texas, sent an email to their clients promising them that one would be released in the summer (July or August from memory?), however, this was not an official announcement from Ineos (or from the vast majority of dealers). As with all sorts of rumors that people want to believe, it spread like wildfire.

The fuel level CEL software update has been available for several months (for pre 3/2024 build vehicles) at this point, however, most dealers want the CEL to be on when the vehicle arrives to show that the vehicle is having the issue.

I was one of the customers that recieved the email stating a software update was coming soon. Well those dates came and went and the dealer is now saying early 2025. Not holding my breath.

I’ll throw my money in the pot. I’d be happy to pay for the R&D time if others are willing.

I purchased my Grenny from the NC dealership and had it in for service for the Fuel/Check engine light. That was corrected via software updates, however the ADAS is still non-existent. According to the rep, they are awaiting NHTSAA approval before they can release it. He told me this week, they are still hopeful for a release before end of year, but everyone else keeps saying that's a pipe dream, so who knows lol.

"The rep" meaning Ineos rep or a dealer employee?
